I'm trying to learn as much as I can about astrology and work out my birth chart. I'm really struggling though. It seems that there is so much to learn, and all the information is not making a lot of sense.

What I'm trying to do is find out from my chart if there are any careers/vocations that I'm most suited to and if/what innate talents/abilities I may have.

If anyone could offer any help on this problem, I would really appreciate it. I'm still learning and hopefully can extract some knowledge from some of you good people.

Basic astrology
Now basically your sun sign is your 'core beliefs, values, ego' and Asc is your physical body, mode of expression and mask and persona that we all wear and hide behind, but definitely not what's going on underneath. What's going on underneath is your Sun sign. Moon sign, house placements and aspects describe your emotional and intuitive responses, also describes your view of your mother, as saturn describes your father by sign and house position.

So, think of a glass milk bottle the bottle is your Asc and your sun the milk, but the milk still has to 'come out' through the glass neck of the milk bottle....

Now aspects within a natal chart represent 'facets' of our personality, because we are all multifaceted beings. What these do is 'break down and compartmentalise' these facets into smaller bite size chunks. This does take quite a lot of self analysis and objectivity to 'see yourself' and why you do certain things and behave in certain ways. Actually it can be quite good therapy...

Remember back to your school days an opposition is 180', square 90', trine 120', and sextile 60' Now challenged aspects are conj (depending on the planets, cos some like each other and some really don't) squares and oppositions. Easy aspects are conj (if the planets get along) eg: Jupiter conj Moon, sextile and trine. Quincunx is inbetween (depending on the planets) causes health strains and unresolved or hard to balance planets/energies.

Three most important things in a natal chart are Sun, Moon and Ascendant sign. So your Asc is in Leo your Moon is in pisces and sun in Taurus. Cafeastrology is great for explaining what the ‘aspects’ mean in a natal chart.

Moon opposite mars is basically a bossy mother, sun opposite Uranus is impatience and wanting to do something unusual that involves the pride and ego. You do have 2x Yod configuration (sun Apex one, and Pluto Apex another) and will PM you some research links

You have calculated your chart using the default on astro of placidus and I use Equal House system and am a modern astrologer. Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at astro and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.

I would have been most helpful if you were to say what it is you were looking to do, what area interests you and any qualifications.

Career options are assessed by MC any planets conjunct, where the ruler of MC is placed, it’s aspects, then 2nd house ‘how you earn your money’ and planets there, ruler of cusp and where it’s placed, then 6th house of ‘type of work you do’ any planets there and how they are aspected.

Venus rules your taurus MC and is placed in 8th house but because it's conjunct 9th house cusp in Equal house this is where it is considered to have more effect (anything within 5' of house cusp in fact) so higher learning, travel, the law, teaching, philosophies are all 9th house matters.

You could research the dk foundation for more information and also skyscript templates has excellent interpretations as to what the houses mean.

Now virgo/mercury rules your 2nd house of ‘earned income’ and Capricorn/Saturn rules 6th, so see how all these areas are ‘earth’ suggesting you may enjoy something practical or using your hands for example. Mercury is placed in 10th house of career in Gemini which tends to know a little bit about a lot but nothing deeply in great depth, but mercury is well aspected except square to moon. This just suggests communications become a bit tense or difficult when talking to mother and women about deep and meaningful issues.

Leo Asc can be very bossy and well organised as can Taurus sun in 10th house of career and social standing. There’s lots and lots of pride involved with Leo people and leaders to and sometimes can be a bit theatrical on occasions.

So as you see there is plenty to go at here, so it pays to be specific in your questions.

I wasn't aware that you could do an advanced chart at astro, would it be helpful to post that?

I feel as if I'm lacking in most areas, one of the things I would like to know is if any musical talent is indicated in my chart? That would be my main focus at this time.
