Hello everyone   -

I have been going through a tough time lately. Although I just graduated college I cannot find a job and my love life is non-existant. I was wondering if anything looked up in my natal chart or possible transits.

Thanks!

Maybe the topic is misleading, because I see many views but I have no responses. I am wondering if anyone can read my natal chart and it could possibly give me some idea about the career and relationship questions I asked about.

Thanks again!

You have calculated your chart using the default on astro.com of placidus and I use Equal House system and am a modern astrologer. Lots of people that come into Astrology get their free charts calculated at www.astro.com and the default ‘house system’ used is Placidus and think that’s just the norm and all that there is……..BUT that is just the tip of the iceberg. You can change the default on astro.com in Extended Chart selection to Equal house and a few more.

I'm a modern astrologer that uses Equal house system. Most noticeably you are experiencing your Saturn return at present, which is why you are re evaluating your position in life..

Now your Saturn, node and vertex are in the 8th house natally, and this is what is prob keeping your short of funds. Your uranus is in the 10th and pluto in 9th.

Transiting Jupiter will next Jan 2010 be conj your 2nd house cusp and should offer opportunities for expansion with how you earn your money at that time.

Career options are assessed by MC any planets conjunct, where the ruler of MC is placed, it’s aspects, then 2nd house ‘how you earn your money’ and planets there, ruler of cusp and where it’s placed, then 6th house of ‘type of work you do’ any planets there and how they are aspected.
Ruler of your MC is Pluto and is deposited in 9th house of higher learning, the law, religion, philosophy. You would prob make a good teacher.

Now ruler of 2nd is Pisces and Neptune is in 11th house of large organisations, groups and friends. So maybe a friends will have sone good tips for you. Cancer rules 6th and moon is placed in libra in 9th house.
You could live an work abroad with this aspect. Now one of the caring profession might suits cos all those signs are 'water' therefore nursing, hospitals, care for elederly or disadvantaged.

What exactly are your hopes and dreams for career? Maybe if you gave some input yourself you would get more responses!

Uranus conj MC suggests lots of different challenges regarding career.
The concept of identifying with a career may be alien to your basic nature. You are fiercely independent and hate to be defined by any one thing that you do. Constantly on the move in your career, you will shy away from identifying with one. You will do what you do in a creative and competent fashion. Yet you will enjoy maintaining your own unique identity. Hierarchies and power games at work will turn you off. You prefer the equality and freedom of flat structures. You may find inner peace in an offbeat career and take off on an archaeological mission to Africa. Social status is of little or no concern for you. At home and at work, your ideas of playing “father” might be unconventional. You make an excellent father as you are capable of opening doors and collapsing barriers as no other. Your progenies might just have to get used to the unusual.

Thank you very much for your reading. I have been hearing more and more about using the equal house system and honestly I think that it is more me. When I first started getting interested in my natal chart (about 15 years ago) I unintentionally used equal house because it made sense but when I started looking things up online it automatically went to Placidus so I thought maybe I was doing something wrong so I just continued with Placidus. I have been studying astrology for a while but mainly for others - friends and family members. It is very hard for me to be objective about myself so that is what I need help with the most and why I need readings on myself. Love and career are on my mind right now and it is easy for me to think "Well Mercury is in the 7th so I need communication in a relationship" (and who doesn't?) but that is as far as it goes.

As for career prospects, I am unsure. I think in my current state I am more concerned about getting a job more than a career because I know that I need more than a bachelors degree to do anything and I just got my B.S. in behavioral sciences. So I should probably look to my 6th house for job prospects. All I know is that I hate, hate, hate working in offices and when I do I usually have to call out managers on crazy policies (true Aquarius rising). I have been told that I should be a lawyer, usually by the people that are arguing with me! I was thinking about social research and/or psychology and sociology as well as adult education ultimately becoming a professor. It is funny that you mention health also because I got my A.S. in health sciences with the original goal of becoming a nutritionist but it really isn't something I truly wanted to do as a career, more of a side job or hobby as I would also like to get my fitness trainer certification. Having Pluto in the 9th makes sense because it seems like I will be in school forever!!!

I would really love to travel but I can't think about it before my job/fund situation is in order.

As for relationships...school and getting myself together has always come first. I think that soon I will be in a place where I'll be ready for the right man to come into my life. That is very, very important to me and honestly more important that anything else that I do - I want a husband and I want to be a mother but I want to be educated and able to help support first.

I am a woman so perhaps the "father" element has to do with my own father, who was not always present in my life.

Here is my chart in equal house format with asteroids (if anyone uses them):

How then does an astrologer choose a house system? Well, the individual studying alone is more than likely to use Placidus Houses. The reason for this is simple - he has to consult an ephemeris in any case, and Raphael's Ephemeris is the most widely used, which gives the information needed for Placidus Houses.
Students who study with a recognised school are usually introduced to all of the house systems, but taught to use one far more than the others. This is usually the Equal House system, which incidentally is also the oldest one. In this house system, the twelve divisions are very much like spokes of a wheel, equally spaced at 30 degree intervals, with all houses being the same size. This is the easiest of the House systems to use, as it requires no further calculation. Once the Ascendant is known, one simply divides the rest of the chart using the Ascending degree as a starting point - so if the Ascendant is at 22 degrees Leo, this is take as the cusp of the first house, with the second house beginning at 22 degrees Virgo, the third at 22 degrees Libra and so forth.
The Equal House system is conceptually valid within today's astrological standpoint that every individual is free to become what their birth chart symbolises as their ultimate talent. The Ascendant has been shown to correspond to the way the person automatically approaches their environment - the 'persona' in Jungian terms. This person is therefore likely to approach every field of life in a specific way. A person with an Aquarius Ascendant, for example, will approach money-making and material values (2nd house) in a Pisces manner, will learn (3rd house) in an Aries manner, deal with family (4th house) in a Taurus manner and so forth.
The biggest criticism of the Equal House system concerns the position of the MC, which, using this system is more often than not the cusp of the tenth house (or any house) but rather is found within the 9th, 10th or 11th house.
The MC, being the highest point at birth, symbolises the aims and ambitions one works towards, and, by extension, one's career potential and public image. But these areas are also 10th house matters, devised, because of that house's association with Saturn, to show precisely these areas of life. It is therefore conceptually necessary (so goes the argument) that the MC be the cusp of the 10th house. For this reason, the Equal House system has a limited following outside the UK, although it is still the commonest House system within the UK.
