Traditionally the IC also refers to the beginning and ending of one's life, the mother or mother figure, and any kind of ancestral memory.  Here is a very brief outline which shows the effects which each of the 12 signs of the zodiac might have when on the IC.

Aries
There may have been some kind of conflict going on in the family at the time you were born. However, your childhood environment was cheerful and your parents helpful and encouraging. Your adult home is an open and friendly place with many visitors and a lot of fun and noise. You could fill your home with gadgets or sports equipment.

Taurus
Your birth should have been comfortable and well arranged and, if your early environment was lacking in either material or emotional comforts, you can rest assured that your later life will make up for this.  Your own adult home will be full of music and beauty and probably over furnished and full of souvenirs.

Gemini
This sign suggest a strange start in life, possibly due to some kind of disruption in your family, or in your schooling. You will probably be active and working right up to the end of your days. You will have either exceptionally good or exceptionally bad relationships with your brothers and sisters. Your own adult home will be full of books, music and people, and you may run some kind of business from it. You need freedom to come and go, but the home you return to will be spacious and full of expensive furniture and equipment.

Cancer
Your early experiences will have a strong impact on your future development. You should remain close to your parents throughout their lives. Your adult home will be very important to you and, even though you frequently travel away from it, you see it as a safe haven.  You may work partially or wholly from your home.  You may enjoy cooking, and your kitchen should be very well equipped. You could collect odds and ends, antiques or even junk.

Leo
Your early days could have been very difficult, either because you were over disciplined or because your parents lived a nomadic existence. Later on, you try to make a traditional and ¬comfortable home, but even this may become disrupted in some way. You may want a nice home but somehow find that you are prevented from spending a lot of money on it. If you entertain you will do so in style and if you work from home you will make sure that you have all the latest equipment to hand.

Virgo
Your early life could have been difficult, either in the home or at school. However, your home environment was full of books and music. Your parents would have placed a bit too much importance on good behaviour, a "proper" diet and cleanliness, and too little on how you felt.
Your adult home is spacious and ¬comfortable, with a well stocked kitchen. If you work from home, you will have all the latest communications equipment.

Libra
Your early life would have been calm, pleasant and loving, with nice surrounding and respectable parents. Your adult home should be large and very comfortable, full of artistic objects and music. You probably like cooking, so you kitchen will be ¬well equipped, but any entertaining which you do will be on a small scale.

Scorpio
The circumstances of your birth may have been strange, and there could have been some kind of conflict raging in the family at the time you were born. Pisces
There may have been some mystery surrounding the circumstances of your  birth or alternatively, you might have been brought up in a nomadic sort of family. Both your childhood and home and your later adult one will reflect the many interests of the people who live in it.  These may include books and equipment associated with the occult, magic, religion or travel. Your surroundings may be deliberately "different", perhaps arty, musical, or ¬earth mother-ish. Your children will have a good deal of freedom, but they may not actually communicate much with you.
