Hi all

I was wondering if anybody used astrological references/elemental dignities in tarot.  For instance, associating the page/princess of wands with Aries.   It would be really interesting to find out other people's views on this.  Also, can using elemental dignities be a good indication of timing in a tarot spread do you think?   So the aforementioned page/princess could indicate something occurring in the time of aries?   Let me know what you think; it's something I've become really interested in recently.

an interesting question --

I have personally always associated the Page of any Tarot Suit with an entire quarter or season.  This makes Wands into Aries, Cups into Cancer, and Swords into Libra and Coins into Capricorn.

In the Cabala, or rather in reference to the Tree of Life, the Page becomes the Princess -- or Kallah, the Bride.  This makes a lot of sense if one thinks about it.  In the words of Carl Jung, '...the reborn is his/her own begetter (and) the story of his/her procreationis veiled benath strange symbolic events ..

Translated into normal English (and in my opinion) this means that in a Tarot reading, the recipient could be struggling with realizations that go beyond the personal, and beyond our everyday involvements with family, job, and etc.  It could be then (and in my opinion) that the recipient of this card -- in a reading, could be receiving a nudgle from Life that it was time to look to the unfoldment of her/his own soul.

And, of course, reversed, it could indicate the recipient is locked into a rather superficial and ego-bound view of the meaning of life.
