I didn't know this post was here when I asked for views on the 13th sign, I have read a little about it, though admitedly not much, but it seems to me that Youdah has a point.

Also looking at it would change my chart drastically and oddly enough I have nothing virgo llike about me, I do have strong traits from my Libra Sun, and Leo Rising, and Scoprio Moon, but I don't match up with the Virgo at all.

So while I think that the Ophiuchus is something that may show up to be something to be consider in our charts, I don't see it fitting the Sun signs it just doesn't seem to fit some how but of course that view is based solely on the fact that I have nothing remotely Virgo like in my personality, or emotional make up, so how would that work?  if it were my sun sign according to the new listing of dates, wouldn't some traits for it show up?

Then again I have meet people who said they do not fit their signs, so maybe this is the version of astrolgoy that they would fit with.

It should be interesting to see what will develop on this.

this changes my whole perspective on astrology. i was born march 3rd.. so does that mean i'm aquarius? and my mom... is an ophiuchus?

that makes me want to cry... because i'm pisces. and pisceans are very emotional.

It does make things interesting but I find it just doesn't work for me and most of the people I know,

Example my mom read about the signs when we were kids and thought that there were so many aspects and characteristics of fire signs in me, yet she didn't think that made sense since I was a Libra, it wasn't until I was older and learned enough to know that my rising sign also affects a lot and that of course is Leo and where those things that she saw in me that related to fire signs came from.

I suppose there is something to be learned from this though I do not know that there is enough information on my part to understand if this whole thing with the 13th sign can be of value or not.

okay  being born Nov 29 I feel lost and confused and I don't know who I am or how I am supposed to act now....this bites

Youdah is right, we should not even be debating this issue as it makes NO difference whatsoever to Astrology.

Tropical zodiac is used and until you learn the basics (for which there are Lessons here and others free online) you should not overload or complicate matters with talking about 'precssions' or Sidreal astrology

Amongst other things, astrology is a wonderful tool for understanding yourself and others better.....enabling us to make better choices in life as we become aware of how our behaviour influences what happens to us through the law of cause and effect. Astrology does not reliably predict the future.......But it can provide an excellent insight into the psychological make-up of people, enabling us to accurately predict their behaviour and it's resultant effects

If you intend to learn about astrology, you will need to begin with a natal chart, it need not necessarily be your own, but many choose to begin this way, in an effort to better understand their own life journey, and purpose. Astrological natal charts are as individual as a persons ‘fingerprints’ depending on where (latitude & longitude) and time of birth. It is important to get your *time of your birth* as this is the most important information.
