A sign is intercepted when the house changes signs during the degrees of that house to a different "sun" sign. Suppose the birth place return showed 4th house cusp at 4 degrees cancer to 4 degrees Leo. But, the chart using relocation coordinates changed the 4th house cusp to 29 degrees Gemini to 29 Cancer. First the intercepted was Leo, then became Cancer intercepted. So relocation could show that person would move during that year, for example, with Gemini influence on the cusp.
