People say that one shld beleiv in stars coz they can change your future but is this real!!!!!!!!! please need your comments on this
Dear djay610,
I have only been seriously studying and applying astrology for a little over 40 years, so you do not need to take my response as definitive. There is also a belief, at least in India, that one needs to study astrology for many many lifetimes before it begins to reveal itself to one.
I do not think stars or planets *change* your future. They are indicators and their movements correlate with the tides of individual destinies. We use the language and syntax of astrological symbols to gain insight into the patterns of destiny.
Let me illustrate what I mean. Assuming that you do not understand hindi, but can read the alphabet (symbols) in which english is written, if you read,"Agar yeh aap maantey to...", I am sure you could read what I wrote but did not understand what I meant. I wrote hindi words in english, meaning, "If you believe this, then ...". If I catch hold of an astronomer who does not know astrology and described an astrological combination in astronomical terms, he would understand the astronomical aspect of it, but not the astrological meaning!
Astrology, in other words is a language, a descriptor which describes the human destiny (broadly using the term destiny in an inclusive manner to describe the human experience).
Why would stars or planets be thus yoked or bothered to reflect our individual destinies may sound rather absurd, and does to the millions of rationalists who think it is all superstitious poppy-cock (their loss!). I think this is because there is the concept of the holographic universe. Like a hologram, all parts of the universe are connected and more than connected, each segment or piece of the universe reflects the entire universe. This is why one does not need to be limited to the stars and planets but other modes of divination also work at the same time as astrology, because although these are all different segments or slices, be it astrology, tarot, cheiromancy, omens, i-ching, yarrow stick, pendulum, whatever, they all work on the same principle: the holographic universe. This is somewhat related to the statement: As above, so below, also known as the principle in the emerald book, I believe.
If this does not make sense, my apologies and thanks for your attention...
