Ashlie,
Your text input is good enough for me to read it, so please do not give this another thought. Because you have asked me to focus on one of several different points for your first reading for this year, this cannot by definition be a general reading where it is left entirely up to the reader to decide these things on your behalf. And because there is more than one area listed, I will use the cards to select the one which it is felt is most important and urgent for you to know about at this moment in time. This will be between the overlapping areas of love, family, career and school.
The
Three of Pentacles which was the very first card drawn when I asked this question on your behalf leads me to believe the school and career are going to the main issues covered by this reading. Of course as you correctly observed you school course and subjects which you do are a way of preparing to be able to get the job you want after you graduate. If you do not choose the correct subjects hopefully with the help of a qualified and suitably trained career guidance officer, then when it comes to applying for the position you are seeking you will be lacking the necessary eligibility criteria to allow you to be considered as a suitable candidate.
Members of the Pentacles suit are either associated with money itself, how to conserve and better manage what money you already have, or finally how to earn more of it through honest means. Threes of any of the four Tarot suits on the other hand means that there are two opposing passions, twin emotions, two opposite ideas, two separate jobs or two sources of finance which when they are combined create something which is much greater than the sum of the component parts.
For example you may want to buy something reasonably expensive and your income from one job may not be enough in itself to allow you to comfortably spends this amount of money at the one time. But if you also do some part time work in addition to your main job to supplement the money which you take in each week, you may just be able to cover the expense. Either thing or quality by itself is simply not enough to make your dream a living reality, but in combination with the other member of the pair you may have a much better chance.
The Three of Pentacles has often been called the craftsman's card. On its face a justifiably proud craftsman shows off his stone arch work to his prospective customers who greatly admire the extremely high quality and beauty of his creation. And to make things even better they are quite prepared to pay him a more than adequate sum of money as fair compensation not only for what he has made, but also with regards to the professional qualifications and skills which he needed to be able to do this line of work. This card is therefore mainly about you finally receiving your just financial reward for all the time and energy which you have sacrificed in order to get to that point.
So having it featuring in your reading if you are already working at that job would be interpreted as a particularly positive sign that during the next six months or so not only will there be more work coming in with an associated increase in your weekly income, but that a larger number of customers having been referred to you by their friends and family members who were impressed with your craftsmanship and your attention to fine detail and the obvious pride you show in your creation will start coming your way and attracting others as well.
You could be worked off your feet for several weeks at a time to be able to keep up with all the orders which are rolling in day after day, but as long as you also take good care of your health then it will be a happy form of tiredness, and a wealth creating one as well. You are likely to be in such high demand that you may need to think seriously about employing your own workers to share the work load with you. You will need to delegate the responsibilities to each person working with or under your supervision, according to how you judge their abilities to do the tasks which you have given them (which will require you to develop a greater degree of trust in them).
But all the above applies if you are already employed in that job or career. What happens if you are still back at school deciding what subjects you will need to best prepare you for your chosen creative and/or artistic work? What does the Three of Pentacles in your reading actually mean in this case? I feel that you are being advised to develop what has been up until now a craft, hobby which you have simply done in the past for the fun and satisfaction of doing it as a relaxing activity to fill in your time into a business which helps you to pay the ever increasing cost of living, and allow your dreams to manifest at this physical level. Turn a part time voluntary hobby eventually into a full time well paying business.
But while you are still back at school basically you first need to think about such an activity which you could when you complete your course turn into money, then work backwards until you eventualy arrive at the subjects themselves.
So if you are for example (and this does not mean that you are going to become a sculptor) going to develop your hobby of sculpting into a profession, you will need to be good at being able to visualize your creation in 3D before the first piece of clay is thrown on the pottery wheel. And you would need some basic chemistry knowledge to help you mix the different materials together and to be able to understand the chemical changes to the final product when your clay mixture is fired in a kiln. The skills of accurate measurement, mathematical calculations of volumes and the appreciation of symmetry and some financial skills to run your business (unless you are going to employ someone else to handle this vital aspect of any successful business for you).
You will need to adjust these for what your hobby is. If you are going to do oil paintings instead, some different skills would be needed as well as some shared ones. Between now and roughly the end of July you are being urged to get clearer in your mind what type of job or career you would be looking towards based upon your existing hobbies, then work back to the school subjects to best prepare you for that career.
Lastly while some pairs of things or qualities may combine in your favour (as happened with the income from two jobs), others may come together to work against you. If you at the same time had for example a great passion or love for someone special in your life but also be a perfectionist with the work you are doing, there are going to need to be sacrifices made in either area to allow you to make a success of the other.
If you want to quickly establish a successful and highly profitable business, your close relationship might have to temporarily take the back seat, while if you are wanting to significantly improve your love life, then there may not be enough time to devote to your business until later. One passion (your passion for your lover) is opposing the other (your passion to fully develop your business venture, and to have more money to spend), and the other way around?
Will this year be any better than the ones which went before it, whether you are still at school or already working?
Yes 2010 will see you moving further in the right direction for you towards making some major career decisions, but if I told you that things can only get better from now on or that there will no longer be any challenges ahead, then I would be deceiving you.
Hoping this helps,
