Hi,

I would like to built an extension at the back of my house and after looking carefully in the lal kitab it says that its not advisable.

I have also spoken to an astrologer who says that there is no point in taking a chance with shani dev positioned in 8th house because it is a risk and the results could be fatal.

He advised that if i was absolutely hellbent on doing it we should employ a remedy of hammering a silver nail in a mandir door and feeding the labourers almonds every morning of work.

My details are 1 may 1976, 00.55am, southampton uk, male

After casting your chart I dont find Shani in the 8th at present.
Shani is in the 8th. house at the time of your birth. This is permanent.

Generally shani in the 8th. house at birth chart gives good longevity and more responsibilities. Other than this it can give a feeling of the career being laborious.

The extension you are trying to build, presumably is an extension to your own house. Is it?
The problem about 8th. shani does not exist, but can you share what combination of Lal Kitab gave the problem?

Did you come up with this astro problem at around 23rd. April this year?

Considering you are in a prime year, does show new plans towards housebuilding/extensionbuilding in 2012.

My hunch is that around Sept 2011 you may decide to go ahead from Jan/Feb 2012.

See, I dont see the building process to be smooth, as some TEMPORARY hitch could be there due to sani mahadasa chandra anrdasa. Such periods are mentally disturbed.

Even if there may be a hitch in continuing, it should be over by May 2012.
If you do not foresee any moving house plans around end March 2012, It should be okay.

You are correct in that the issue was raised at approximately the timescale you mention (late april)

I was told by an astrologer (and i checked this myself) that I cannot either build a house or have any construction work done to it because I have shani in 8th.  

it is said in the lal kitab that it would lead to news of a death in the family and its something that I dont want to take a chance with.

Are you saying that I can go ahead and build this extension or is it something that I should avoid altogether because thats the advice that i have been given.

Im a little confused because what you are saying seems to contradict the lal kitab.

You are saying that there isnt a problem in that respect but the books point in an opposite direction.

can you please explain this further because im really unsure
