Dear all learned people,

One of my family members has been told that he has Kal sarp yog in his horoscope. Can you take a look and give your thoughts on it and also tell how bad is it, what should he watch out for and how to get rid of it?He is a very healthy person right now. Also please tell about his financial condition, when will it get better. He wants to venture into some business, when is the right time and will he be successful? His DOB is 14-08-77. TOB is 8:30 PM and POB is Ferozpure Punjab.

KSY does not mean everything is negative! He will just have a very individualistic approach and will tend to be sensitive and get offended or take things personally a bit more than others. He will have an ambivalent relationship with father, ranging from extreme devotion to opposite at different times in life. Growth will come from the realization of the two being different and not necessarily connected individuals. At times there will be obvious tendencies for competition and challenges between the two.

June to November 2008 is a good period for new business ventures. However, given the very cuspal nature of the chart (nearly sandhi lagna) it is prudent to ask how accurate the birthtime is? Could it be a few minutes earlier? So, please let us know what is the source of the birthtime? Someone's memory/recall or some document (birth record, recorded time in any horoscope made in early childhood etc, family diary)

Thanks a lot for your reply. The time is 8:30 PM and not AM. But is definetely 8:30 PM as his mother has that recorded and they had his horoscope done when he was born. They were told the time that he has complete Kal sarp Yog and that his mother should do some puja at some temple in south India to get rid of that. His mother says that all her helth problems are also due to her son's Kal Sarp Yog. You are exactly right about his relationship with his father. They rarely get along, sometimes they are not even on talking terms but rarely they work together.
With the time being 8:30 PM does that make any difference? Also he was told he is under Shani Sade sati. He is really wanting to start a new business from the last few months. Do you think thetime is right now considering the TOB change?
