Hello Rajani,
I can understand very well your problem. But as I told you will you find it difficult to fast from Sun rise to sun set on Wednedays?
I am repeating the Kaatyayani Slokam for you as also sending by way of attachments the method of doing Puja as also difference between Mantr and Stotra.
You need to have faith in the Lord.
You are running the Dasa of Badhaka and YogaKaraka Saturn and sub-dasha of Rahu the Atmakaraka.
This is problematic. For marriage, both the Dasa and Transits have to be supportive.
The other things causing delay I have already told you. But dont lose heart. I am reproducing hereunder the
slokam.
Sloka for helping early Marriage
They should say this mantra on a daily basis and you can start this on Wednesday.
"Kaatyaayani Mahaamaayey Mahaa YoginyaDheeshwaree
NandaGopasuta Devi Pati Mey Kuru Tey Namaha
O Katyaayani! MahaaMayey" (Names of Ma the Mother Goddess)
Meaning:
Supreme Lord of all great Yoginis,
Make Shree Krishna, my husband:
Prostrations unto Thee.
For details of puja method, and difference between Stotra and Mantra please see the attachment.
Hope you will find these useful to you.
Om sri Sai ram,
Amarnath
oops attachments appear problematic. I am repeating the same.
SIMPLE WAY OF PERFORMING PUJA:
All human beings are born from God and hence they want to be intact with God always. They want to show their love towards God by worshipping Him. Since God exists in all forms, human beings found Him in different forms, called 'deities'. These deities represent different energies, which protect the human beings from their problems and help them reach the ultimate God.
Now-a-days, society is so busy, people are not finding time even to think about God. If they can allot a few minutes every day for strengthening their relationship with God, they can achieve prosperity in all walks of life. Puja(worship) helps for this purpose. We are presenting here 12-steps of vedic Puja, which is a condensed version that every one can perform by spending 30 to 45 minutes of time, every day. The following are the steps:

1. Prepartion for Worship - 1 min
2. Offering of lights - 1 min
3. Prayers to Divine guide(Guru) - 1 min
4. Water sipping(Aachamana) - 2 min
5. Prayers to god Ganesh - 2 min
6. Declaration of Intent(Sankalpa) - 1 min
7. Gayatri Mantra - 15 min
8. Worshipping the deity - 15 min
9. Sipping the holy water - 2 min
10. Offering food(Naivedyam) - 1 min
11. Lighting camphor(Haarathi) - 1 min
12. Circumambulation(Pradakshinaas) - 2 min

The best time to start Puja is at morning 6.00 o' clock. If this is not possible, then we can do it at evening 6.00 o' clock. Puja should be performed with a quiet and peaceful mind, after taking bath. However where Puja is recommended by the Astrologer for some specific remedy, the day, and time is as chosen by him. The Hora has to be strong at achieving the specific purpose.

Articles needed:
Photo or idol of deity, a tumbler of water and two plates, two oil lamps, flowers / akshitaas(uncooked rice mixed with wet turmeric), fruit / sweet / jaggery / sugar / milk and camphor, Kumkum(vermilion) / Vibhooti (white powder made from cow dung).

Prepartion for Worship:
Sit on a wooden plank facing East or North. Take another wooden plank and spread a silk cloth on it. Now place the deity's photo or idol on the silk cloth, opposite to you. Wear kumkum or Vibhooti between your eye brows.

Offering of lights:
Lit up two oil lamps before the deity. Use gingelly oil or ghee as the fuel in the lamps.

Prayers to Divine guide(Guru):
If you have a Guru, you are fortunate. Otherwise, consider your favourite deity as your Guru. Get your Guru into your mind, fold your hands at chest, and recite this:

Om Gururbrahmaa Gururvishnuhu Gururdevo maheswaraha
Gurussaakshaat Parabrahmaa Tasmai Sree gurave namaha|
Now, imagine lord Vishnu(See him at right) in to your mind, and offer your prayers to him to remove any obstacles:

Om Suklaambaradharam vishnum sasivarnam chaturbhujam
Prasanna vadanam dhayayet sarva vighnopasaantaye |

Water sipping(Aachamana):
The following 24 names of god Vishnu should be uttered for receiving protective energies:

Om Kesavaaya swaaha|
- Recite this once, pour water into your right hand and sip it.
Om Naaraayanaaya swaaha|
- Recite this, sip water as above.
Om Maadhavaaya swaaha|
- Recite this, sip water as above.

Then pour some more water and drop it on the floor at your left side. Now fold hands in reverence, and recite the following names:

Om Govindaaya namaha|
Om Vishnave namaha|
Om Madhusoodanaaya namaha|
Om Trivikramaaya namaha|
Om Vaamanaaya namaha|
Om Sreedharaaya namaha|
Om Hrusheekesaaya namaha|
Om Padmanaabhaaya namaha|
Om Daamodaraaya namaha|
Om Samkarshanaaya namaha|
Om Vaasudevaaya namaha|
Om Pradyumnaaya namaha|
Om Anirudhaaya namaha|
Om Purushottamaaya namaha|
Om Adhokshajaaya namaha|
Om Naarasimhaaya namaha|
Om Atchyutaaya namaha|
Om Janaardhanaaya namaha|
Om Vupendraaya namaha|
Om Haraye namaha|
Om Sree krishaaya namaha|

Prayers to god Ganesh:
Since Ganesh is the dispeller of obstacles, he should be worshipped first before starting any thing. Imagine Ganesh's form in your mind(see him at right), and recite the following 17 holy names of Ganesh by folding your hands at chest:
Om Sumukhaaya namaha|
Om Yekadanthaaya namaha|
Om Kapilaaya namaha|
Om Gajakarnikaaya namaha|
Om Lambodaraaya namaha|
Om Vikataaya namaha|
Om Vighnaraajaaya namaha|
Om Ganaadhipaaya namaha|
Om Dhoomakethave namaha|
Om Ganaadhyakshaaya namaha|
Om Phaalachandraaya namaha|
Om Gajaananaaya namaha|
Om Vakratundaaya namaha|
Om Soorpakarnaaya namaha|
Om Herambaaya namaha|
Om Skandhapoorvajaaya namaha|
Om Sree Maha Ganaadhipataye namaha|

Declaration of Intent(Sankalpa):
While performing this puja, mention your wish to be fulfilled. This is called sankalpa. Recite like this:
I,___________ (tell your name), offering my prayers to god / goddess ___________(tell your deity's name) on this day for achieving all the four: dharma(righteousness), artha(money), kaama(ambition), moksha(liberty) and for alleviating all problems from my life. I wish the complete grace and protection of god / goddess _____________(tell your deity's name) to fall on me and my family members always.

Gayatri Mantra:
If you have taken already Gayatri mantra from a Guru, you should recite that mantra in multiples of 108. People, who did not know this mantra should skip this section.

Worshipping the deity:[when the Diety to be worshipped is recommended by the Astrologer, follow the same]
Look at the photo / idol of your deity and get that picture imprinted in your mind. Close your eyes for 2 to 3 minutes and visualize the form of your god. Imagine your deity has come and sat before you. This is called 'dhyaanam(meditation)'.

Now recite the 108 or 1008 holy names of your deity. People who got mantra of the deity from a Guru should recite it in multiples of 108. While reciting the names or mantra, throw flowers on your deity. If flowers are not available, then throw akshitaas on your god.

If you are using an idol for worship, you can pour milk, fruit juices, honey, ghee, co-conut water etc., on the idol and finally clean the idol with water. This should be done simultaneously with mantra recitation. Then adorn the idol with flowers.

Sipping the holy water:
At the end of reciting holy names or mantra, take water in to your right hand and leave it into a plate saying:

Yetatphalam Sree _______________ (tell your deity's name) devataarpanamastu|

The water thus obtained is energized with divine vibrations. You should take this water from the plate into your right hand and tell this:

Om akaala mrutyu haranam sarva vyaadhi nivaaranam|
Mahaa paapa kshayakaram Sree _____________ (tell your deity's name)
devata paadodakam paavanam subham|

Saying this, sip the water slowly.

Offering food(Naivedyam):
Any fruit / sweet / jaggery / sugar / milk can be offered as food for your deity. Put them in a plate before the photo or idol and split some water droplets on it, saying:

Om Sree ______________ (tell your deity's name) devataaya namaha| Naivedyam samarpayaami|

Note: Later, this offering should be consumed by you and your family members and it can also be distributed to others.

Lighting camphor(Haarathi):
Now lit up the camphor in a small plate, and move the plate around the photo / idol in a verticle circular form. Do this three times from left to right.

Circumambulation(Pradakshinaas):
Stand up and rotate your body from left to right. While doing this, fold your hands at chest and close your eyes. Do three complete rotations. Then kneel down before god and fold your hands, close your eyes and ask your deity to fulfill your wishes.

MANTRA AND STOTRA:

What is mantra?Differece between Mantra and Stotra
Technically speaking a mantra is a mystical formula composed of letters and words that are meaningful to the initiated. A mantra is a combination of sacred syllables which forms a nucleus of spiritual energy. The mantra is also a collection of” akshara" (syllables) meant to raise the kundalinin Shakti (the coiled power that lies dormant in all of us). This serves as a magnet to attract or a lens to focus spiritual vibrations. According to Upanishads, ancient scriptures of India, the original abode of the Mantra was the primeval ether. The mantras were directly perceived by the rishis or seers who translated them into an audible pattern of words, rhythm and melody. The chanting or reciting of mantras activates and accelerates the creative spiritual force, promoting harmony in all parts of human beings. The repetition of mantras over billions of times by countless devotees over the centuries has brought about a vast reservoir of power which augments the inherent spiritual potency of the mantras
There are many mantras in the Hindu texts and broadly classified as two types Pra-siddha Mantra or those that can be recited by any person irrespective of whether they are given by a guru or not and without a specific objective of solving a problem.Kamya-siddha Mantra- which are meant to solve specific problems.
Science of Mantra-The essential and important parts of the process are
1. Recitation of the mantra
2. Correct rhythmic pronunciation of the mantra
3. Understanding the meaning of the mantra
4. Reciting the mantra the prescribed number of times[

Rules of Mantra:
Mantra should be pronounced properly. If it is not pronounced properly, its significance is likely to be changed. This shows that pronunciation should be done properly otherwise the meaning gets changed. Where the mantra should be broken is important, the meaning gets changed according to the place where we break the mantra. That is why we should not pronounce the mantra if we do not know how to do it. If a mantra is not properly used, it can have an adverse effect. There is a rhythm for pronouncing the mantra and the seat is specific, the sitting posture is definite. The smaller the mantra, the more effective it is. If it is long, it becomes difficult to utter and its result is general. If it is small, it is easy to utter and its result is very good.

The result of mantra is of three types:
(a) Mantra produces vibrations
(b) Colour is seen because of mantra
(c) Different types of sounds are heard

Some universal mantras which anybody can chant are

1.Om Namo Narayanaya
2. Om Namah Shivaya
3. Om Tat Sat
4. Gayatri Mantra of Rig Veda
5. Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya
6. Hare Rama Krishna
7. Mahamritunjaya Mantra

Rasi Mantra: The Janma Rashi is the sign occupied by the moon in the birth chart Following are the Rasi mantras generally recommended.

Aries - Om Vishnave Namah ,
Taurus - Om Vasudevaya Namah,
Gemini – Om Keshavaya Namah,
Cancer - Om Radha-Krishnaya Namah,
Leo - Om Hariharaya Balamukundaya Namah,
Virgo - Om Hrim Pitambaraya Paramatmane Namah,
Libra - Om Sri Ram Dasrathaye Namah,
Scorpio - Om Narayanaya Namah Om Naraya Namah
Sagittarius - Om Hrim Shrim Krim Dharani Dharaya Namah,
Capricorn - Om Shrim Vatsalaya Namaha
]Aquarius - Om Shri Upendraya Achyutaya Namah, Om Krim Govinda-Gopalaya Namah
Pisces - Om Krim Rathanga - Chakraya Namah

Before choosing a particular mantra it is better to consult guru / astrologer to get the initiation, and advise on which mantra to chant, what is the best time, place and position and how often a mantra needs to be repeated and the exact way to recite it. Each and every type of mantra has a rosary that goes with it.

Now let us see what is the meaning of stotra. Stotras are Hymns in praise of the planets and
God. There is no exact intonation to read a stotra and more importance is given to the devotion
aspect while reciting the stotra. It would be wise to know the inner meaning of the Stotra.

The effect of sloka to reap results is believed to be slower than the specific Mantra but the problem of pronounciation, initiation, proper choice of the Mantr is supposedly less.

RECITE THE MANTRA OR STOTRA FROM THE HEART AND NOT MERELY FROM
THE LIPS AS A RITUAL.

Amarnathji,
Thank you very very much for the information given by you.
Guys like us who are in US find it very difficult to find a proper Guru or guiding person and whatever you have give is immense in helping us.

I am a Vysya(sorry to bring caste in but just to explain the circumstance).
So, I was initiated with the yagnopaveetham on the day of my marriage but had to leave to US right away and could not learn the method of sandhyavandanam from my dad.

Your elaborate explanation helped me a lot and I will try to follow atleast something.

Regarding mantras, you said a beautiful point that you should do it the right way with the right pronunciation and right posture.

How can you get this unless told by a Guru.
For instance, I am going through my Venus dasha and someone asked me to say " Om shum shukraya namaha" for one mala daily.

I say it in the night along with my Vishnu sahasranamam recitation sitting on the bed. Is this bad?
Can you suggest the right method in such situations please.

Always have it in mind that what place you were before God helped you when you asked help for.
