We actually dont have any idea if she had the problem earlier. My brother got married almost 2 years back. We have noticed the eccentricity right from the beginning. It was an arranged marriage without doing any background checking. We dont know anything about her past background. She comes from a very well to do family. So we didnt bother much. When my brother spoke to her before marriage also it was not very obvious, though everybody noticed her reluctance to look at the face while speaking initially. Once got familiar with the person, that reluctance is not there. Nobody had a chance to interact with her closely before. Also after one month of marriage, my brother went onsite and came back after a few months. Things just dragged along, we couldnt make out her personality as sometimes she behaves very nicely.  

But she was very possessive even before marriage. She couldnt even tolerate my brother talking to kids, neighbours, me and my parents. She hates all those with whom my brother is close(females) even if it is a kid.

Her parents are very defensive if my brother makes any complaints about her. They also vigilantly check about whats happening at my brother's home as if they are anxious  to know if we are happy with her.

 I don't mean to pry, but this is something which i must get off my chest. The symptoms, the behavior, is exactly like my bua's...dad's youngest sister. She got married and things got worse....they took her to tantrics..etc...but only upon medical treatment, she got better. She was diagnosed with mild Schizophrenia...which is a form of Psychosis. U cannot help people such as this with mantras..etc....there's a big imbalance in their brain, and they need psychiatrists to diagnose well and then prescribe meds/
 My bua left her husband...and has lived a lone life in Canada. Though on meds, she is still very suspicious of things...cleans things over and over again(OCD), and doesn't like anyone visiting her. When she calls me, she talks and talks and the next minute, she hangs the phone quickly. Her doc told us that she would be dangerous if not for the medications.....she also is very devoted to God.
 My only point is that this lady needs medical intervention..this is more than a behavior problem. My grandparents took my bua to every pundit, tantric, ojha...u name it.  Her episodes are in control....but as you know, psychosis cannot be got rid of for life. Symptoms can be in control though.
Everybody has come here with their own karma. We are generations out of India yet my grandparents had a difficult time diagnosing her problem.
So realize the inevitable...and get her help. Take care

Very true what you said about cutting the phone. She doesnt actually respond when one calls her, the caller herslef/himself should say hello first. But that after constant advise from my brother, she is changing. But still she responds only after a few minutes of silence. I dont why is it so. Certain behaviours even after constant advices she is unable to change. Another thing is that when we all watch tv, she will watch but doesnt seems to be listening to that. Her mind will be somewhere else. She will then suddenly start talking about something not allowing us to listen to the TV.
