I'm just going to ramble here a minute so you can get an idea of how i feeel about astrology.

I had my first experience with fortune telling when i was about 8. My mother and grandmother had a party and the teller gave me a free tea reading. I don't remember much about it and didn't have another experience with fortune telling until just last year. So far I have had my fortune told once and my palm read once. I don't think I really believed what i was told either time.

Whenever i go into a book store i somehow always end up with an astrology book in my hand for a few minutes. It seems that I'm an almost perfect example of the leo these people write about....and it amazes me everytime i read them. The latest and most scary accurate is "Sextrology". I swear the chapter on male leo's is at least 85% exactly describing me! Right down to the likes and dislikes and physical traits.

I'm recently divorced and meet 2 girls (amongst many other people) that are big into astrology (getting readings...but don't know much) and I'm starting to think they may not be getting the best info which will lead to making bad life decisions for them. My birthday is Monday and I think they are going to take me for a reading. I was born July 23rd at 3:16pm 1973.

I look on these boards and see so much overwhelming information...I really have a hard time deciding on what I find to be the best subject for me. So many different types that all have their accuracies.

Ok...enough for now....hope you guys can help me  

The way I understand you so are this a wish for an Astrology Reading.

Hi Horrid-

I don't see why you should worry or give much energy to whether you believe in astrology, tarot, psychics, and the list goes on take your pick there are plenty of things out there or not. If you do, you do. If you don't, you don't. If you're on the fence about it and you teeter one way for a short spell, then back again, why worry about it? This isn't a major life changing decision like "should I get the chemo for my cancer, or shouldn't I?" You may spend a lifetime sitting on the fence without ever coming to a conclusion of where you stand on any of this and there is nothing wrong with it.

Happy birthday by the way, and should one of your friends surprise you with taking you to a reader... if you are staunchly against it, there is nothing wrong with gracefully saying you will not partake in this although you appreciate the thought and leave it at that. Or you could go with it and just have fun.

I know the tea reader was probably trying to be nice, but I honestly don't believe children should be read; certainly not an eight year old. I'm dead set against that considering the mindset of a child that young. Understand nothing is ever set in stone. I don't care who is reading you. You have this little gift called free will and your life is affected by others free will. Anything can happen. When a reader reads you, especially one who is telling you your future, it's what they are seeing at that exact moment, everything is subject to change. An example: I could tell you you are going to get hit by a Mack truck tomorrow while crossing a busy street in the afternoon. With that knowledge tomorrow comes and  you are more careful when walking or choose not to go out at all. The future I just saw has changed because you changed it.

If you're interested in the subject, but want to learn about it then just have fun with it. There is no law stating you have to believe any of it.

Edit: this post was in transit as I was responding. I just want to clarify I didn't see anywhere that you were asking for a reading, but it's content was mainly how you felt about it.

It's not so much a request for a reading as much as it is to get a better understanding of what I'm reading and being told. I wouldn't mind a reading for comparison purposes and i take everything with a grain of salt. My birth place is Detroit, Michigan U.S.A.

What I would like is a better understanding so I can communicate to these friends that maybe they aren't using this info in the proper manner. none of us have a decent understanding of things like natal charts, rising planets etc. Are these things readers should be discussing with us...because they haven't.

Like i said...I'm a leo...I'm my own highest authority on everything. You have to really convince me of something in order for me to take it as anything more than a fascination at the moment.

BTW..whats the big difference between Verdic and Western Astrology? I figured this would fall under Western if anything. But that's why i'm here...to learn.

Well....the reason for me to believe you wanted a Reading was because you started to state birth data....since just a discussion didn't have any need for such

For putting in Verdic......just my feeling that there is more activity in this forum....in style...more Indian....and they are clever people
