Controlled by the Moon - what does it mean?

Hi All,
Just wondering if you can answer a question for me. A Vedic astrologer recently said that since 1997 I've been "Controlled by the Moon" which he said is a very testing experience (I've had very bad chronic pain since 1998 and basically the pain and my emotions seem to go up and down with the Moon cycle).

He said that from May this year I will no longer be controlled by the Moon. I'm just wondering what your thoughts on this may be and if you feel that once I am no longer controlled by the moon my energy will balance out and I will become more emotionally and physically stable.

As well, i'd like to know what cycle I will be entering into after May and what it means.

Since 1997 I've done lots (I mean LOTS!) of healing which has been very helpful in many areas but I'm still plagued with constant leg and back and other body pains.

My DOB / time is 8.12.1971, 1.45pm (daylight savings time) born Sydney, Australia - Royal North Shore Hospital at St Leonards.
