The Chowkhamba version by Pt Devchandra Jha is most authentic in my view, although Pt Sitaram Jha's sanskrit version is the basis of all editions published in English or available online, which is highly spurious. Pt Devachandra Jha's version does not use the term "Vaisheshikaamsha", but mentions it under the title "Shri-vasabha" or Shri-dhaama.
The option ''retrograde mercury and direct Venus are not combust' is Pt Sanjay Rath's option. BPHS mentions only those combinations while dealing with this Shridhaama yoga which are default in JHora (esp. in settings recommended by me : I strictly adhere to BPHS, with no reliance on Sanskrit verses of English editions or internet version).
The centre of the sun's disk is trully on the eastern horizon'' is traditional view followed by me.

Dear Vinay ji,
Yes, the ''retrograde mercury and direct Venus are not combust' is Sanjay Rath's inclusion is correct as per Sanjay ji's perception.
I do not find it logical too. Thanks for confirming.
Regarding the sunrise and sunset options, is anything mentioned mentioned in B.P.H.S. about it.
Somehow I have always used 'the tip of Sun's disk appears on the eastern horizon', as I found it more logical in terms of results of GL, HL ETC.
Could I have your comments please as I do have room for others.
I mean is anything mentioned in BPHS regarding it?
Rishi
