Not posting on behalf of RR whom you asked, but in the meantime, this binary good/bad, benefic/malefic in my (perhaps biased) view is a bit too simplistic and I have always been uncomfortable with it and even mildly revolted against that from time to time. As much as I observe Human Experience that is codified as Jyotish -- it is my empirical belief -- it is more grey than black and white!
Chara karakas, once I opened to those, but not following the Black and White that we generally find in books and on Internet and so forth, are a good lead to follow for most of us living in the mundane reality of Mrityuloka and Kaliyuga! We cannot wish away the Loka and Yuga, just with a wish, but perhaps we can begin looking at the clues that lives, ours and of others, provided aplenty, on INTERNET, for starters!
Curses begin to turn into Blessings! As we OPEN our perception and observe lovingly what the 'cat dragged in', as the proverb goes...! In the "jyotish-samudrika" framework, I believe it is called NIMITTA! Others call it SYNCHRONICITY!
