One of the fundamental concepts of Jyotish revolves around the framework of
AVASTHAS of planets. Several of these states-of-being (and expressions) are
available to Jyotishis.
I am talking about the 3,5,6,9,12 etc that have been described. One or two of
these are riddled with *MMMB-curse* that jyotish faces (munday munday etc), but
most of these are simple and straightforward!
How have you used these in your daily practice (or regular practice if not
daily!)?
HOW?? If you care to share...!
Please lay aside your prejudices and please post a clear response that remains
focused on just the awasthas/avasthas.
Musings, speculations, thoughtful responses are all welcome as well as examples
if you can (although those take time to prepare and post and are not being
sought if you do not have the time, energy etc)?
There must be a solid reason why these were created and recommended by Rishis?
Thanks for all sincere answers.

<I would not rehash this unless it was considered important enough for my
guests!>
Now avasthaas...3,5,6,9,12 ... more! All can be beautifully and simply seen to
reflect mundane reality, without the need to be mystical or mysterious,
really...!
The 12-fold perspective, for instance, is nothing super-special, but just tries
to capture normal activities and states that are all part of the normal human
experience, hain naa?
Another way of seeing the very same reality that others are contented in staying
with: The twelve signs, or twelve bhavas and then the guthhi of 'which
bhava-chalit?'
Whole sign, equal-house (Ptolemy), sripati (Porphyrii), Placidus? And then
experimentors recommend trying the cusp as the beginning instead of
bhav-madhyaa! And Regiomontanus, Campanus, Zenith, East-point, many many more
and others, some even relying on NUMBERS to jump-start the point of beginning!
To a *cat-observer*, it might seem at times that MA is playing with Her billies!
Throwing them 'treats' of different tastes, flavours and the kitties jump and
rub their hands in glee and they thus occupied and out of MA's hair, She
proceeds to things more important! Like healing other kitties, and other
animals, energetically, or other things that MA must do...!
Billies and Bandars are creatures of instinct. If they were enough to be the
'treats' that MA could have been happy and accomplished with and by, She would
not have created Her beloved Monster-child: Human Being!
Capable of the worst and the best! Having empowered her monster-child with the
ultimate power of reasoning and thinking and free-will, She slapped Herself in
Her Divine forehead and created the LAW and ORDER known as KARMA...!
With POWERS and FREEDOM come the RESPONSIBILITIES!
That is all there is to HUMAN EXPERIENCE! And, it is TIMELESS and all cannot be
learned in one class, one course or even in ONE LIFETIME...!
I could be naive, inexperienced, illiterate and unwise, but something tells me
that my perception is not an illusion or unreal. Egoistical or arrogant or
foolish, as it may sound to all! BUT -- Ma ONLY knows BEST!
Love and Light (what more to want or deserve...?)
