How we identify guardian god’s (ista devatha) powers from horoscope? What planets, house lords & houses are related to guardian gods?

I thought, "ISHTa" implied, 'beloved/coveted', Brian, and not *Guardian* a concept that perhaps comes from Biblical folklore..." (Guardian angel, for instance...?)

thanks RR ji for reply my first post in MB, in this subject vedic astrology and philosophy have Kula Devatha or gods help to family or some Nakarashta have related deities (god), isn't?

Jyotish developed in a cultural milieu where religion had a strong and interwoven (with life) reality. Unlike modern trend where religion for many worldly people remains an activity which is part of life but not interwoven as a whole. Like in the past.

Given that reality, one can definitely see religious symbolism as part of the framework of astrology. But that is not the only way.

Others may have different views and perspectives.
