Rishi_bhai,

Absolutely! The lunar nodes, unlike, the 'pindas' are perhaps significant as 'portals'. Let me try to explain in my limited verbal capacity :-(

This is not scriptural, meaning, I did not read it somewhere or can provide academic evidence by quoting slokas etc but it comes from something that I have always done as a personal method of self-study.

You see, the creation of the lunar nodes (leaving aside the allegorical story which might have a lot of pithy truth but not to be taken literally but rather as a difficult topic presented in an easily learned story (like mnemonics in technical educational fields, or Aesop's fables or Panchatantra, for instance) -- the creation of nodes (astronomically) is through the point of crossing of the paths of the two luminaries (from our geocentric perspective!). Imagine two jet planes or rockets flying and leaving their paths in the sky for all of us to see. We can tell that two rockets or jets crossed their paths. The crossing is a node, as physicists would call that. One can perhaps, if the trails are examined fresh also figure out (knowing other factors, wind speed, temperature etc) the time of the crossing and also if the two planes were of the same type (from the size of the exhaust perhaps) and many other things that can be deduced. Using telescopes and telemetry one may also deduce if the crossing was real (in 3D) or just a 2D illusory superimposition (in the z axis, the two planes may have crossed hundreds of miles apart if we look straight on.

That would be true for sun and moon too. Even though their paths may seem to cross and create the nodes, we know that their actual paths were millions of miles apart (even at eclipses, the sun and moon never collide!).

Perhaps the nodes and their crossing in 'astrological plane' (as opposed to physical-astronomical) represents an 'opening' of sorts through which the 'solar' realm and 'lunar' realm connect. The astrological derivative would then be that rahu and ketu perhaps do not represent karma or karmic realm as such but represent the 'window' through which karmic influences find expression and during these periods or transits etc, one becomes more vulnerable or likely to experience the karmic baggages that exist in the chart under study.

I do not wish anyone to 'run with this' and begin applying too simplistically or literally, as we all tend to do. But to just keep this thought I shared at the back of their minds and 'watch' for concordance.

The karmic influences so expressed might be events, outcomes, people we meet, etc etc.

If it is sounding to "airy-fairy" to anyone, that is understandable too. It is one of those, "Keep or Toss" sharings...!

Love and Light,

Rohiniranjan

While Manik Chand ji might have had his reasons for calling the nodes as Karmic Contol Planets, pretty much all other planets assume that role!

The entire construct and framework of Jyotish is about Karma and Control!

My Karma
HER Control!

MA in jyotish parlance is stuck with the IV house = Turyaa  (turyaamsha)
The tenth therefrom (HER KARMA) is the LAGNA!
HER Karma is the nativity...!

Our KARMA is our tenth! Which must be paid attention to and followed if we wish to pass the current course we enrolled for...!

If Her Karma and our Karma by happenstance unite then ALL IZZ WELL!

But seriously, neither the L4 nor the L10 must be ignored or their sambandha and lessons!

Hi Dada,

You are very right about what you say... The 4th./10th thing is very important in maintaining an important 'balance' in life.

But as all planets are Karmik indicators, similarly Rahu/ketu placements (opposite each other/opposition) show/reveal a lot about the past and present life, and the grey and white areas.

Dear Dada,

Thank you for the clarity behind the nodes......the jets crossing the paths..

But did you wonder how I can be so sure of the life beyond our/my present life, which my memory has not/will not experience?

Manik Chand Jain ji, of course was talking about it and called the nodes as Karmik control planets.

But past and present could be adapted to the same life.
Does it make better sense now?

The whole point of (in my pov!) of lifetime (human experience) is ideally about 'connecting the dots'! How past flows into now and now creates future! Astrology helps us navigate, even though not always ideally, for everyone.

It makes (or can make!) life meaningful and the randomness diminishes with perseverence. It is not about 'power or control' but finding the sense and meaning...

Blessings!
