In Jan 2010, I met an Astrologer from Ahemednagar in Goa for an Astrology Conference. During our discussion, he told me about predicting probable Delivery Date for Pregnant Ladies. His calculation was simple and as follows,

1. Find the 1st day of Menses the lady had before conceiving.
2. Find the Moon Star (Nakshatra) of that Day
3. Calculate 9 months from that date and find when the Moon enters in same Star.
4. The date on which Moon will be in same Star will be the probable date of Delivery for the Lady.

*** Here the Menstrual Cycle has been considered as 28 days for Normal Females.

I have not tried it as yet. If someone wishes to give a try then please let everyone know about the success of the rule.

One more important point, if anyone knows any other system of calculation such things then I welcome all to discuss the same.

This is a very interesting topic that you started.    I do not possess any clear cut rules about this matter, as I do not follow any in the usual way.

If you have any data of a wife getting impregnated/told by the doctor that she is pregnant (past story in your record).
I would need the date of either or.  Also the birth details of the couple.......

Then try to predict the date of delivery in some little bit approximation.
If correct, or not I can try to explain how I got to it.

Let this be an experiment for us. So that I am able to give an explanation to your query in a practical manner,

I have predicted for 3  ladies exact date of delivery but not based  on Astrological factors. All the three occasions my predicted date came rite and all wondered . As told by Milind ji above calculations  can be started from the day one  and it will never exceed 270 days for  a normal delivery . Actually speaking we used to take 9 Pornimas and 9 Amavasyas for  full term pregnancy which is equaling to 270 days . Yes u r rite ,  let us  all discuss  it with  Astrological points please.  256 to 270 days is perfect . It should never  exceed 10 Amavasyas . It  is my experience .

Sexual union, pregnancy and reproduction of human species are the essentials on which the world exists. Sexual union should never be based upon simple sense gratification. The time of conception ("Garbhadhaana") is very important and should be carefully planned.Like wise  we Astrologers can help predicting the delivery date too if we think and find out calculations to do so. Everything is possible in  Vedic Astrology .Though not accurate time of birth,  I believe,  we can predict approximate dates . I quoted my early experiences of detecting correct date and to my astonishment it came rite in 3 occasions , the exact  data I could predict .It happened in the year 1989 First time., with my neighbor who is my  friend's daughter .From that day I became famous in saying this to many , Those  days I am not very much interested in Astrology so I forgot to see Nakshathras and all . But I still remember the date of birth of that child , who was  born on  February 15th 1989.  Actually Doctors gave one more weeks  time.


Indeed Muhurtha Astrology we use to see many pointers for nuptials. and Gaharbahdhana Mantras are  recited  in Hindu Vivahas which Iam sure  of. . The constellations (Nakshatras) Shravana, Rohini, Anuradha, Swati, Revati, Moola, Uttarashada, Uttarabhadrapad, Shatbhisha are highly favourable for nuptials.(Suhag Raath) Iam sure we can discuss this further and get some good ways of predicting the date of delivery too .
