HI

1. With a horoscope is it possible to determine the gender of a person?? If yes, how can it be done?

2. How can we determine whether a person is alive or dead by just having his/her horoscope?

For Q1, please read Rectification of birth time by Prof. P.S. Sastri, for Q2 one simple way would be to see if the horoscope is coming from the nativity (check the email address) although lots of people use 'handles' these days and it can get tricky! Prashna helps, but these days, even entities from other dimensions seem to show up though they generally do not ask for readings, although they make a mess of other people's (mostly dead and unable to protest) birthdata in the name of some 'new and improved' birth times!
