I am not trying to mix the Vedic Astrology with Western Astrology. My intension was to understand the effect of total no. retrograde planet in natal chart from  Vedic Astrology's point of view (see the first post). if there is anything written in Vedic Scriptures or research done regarding total no. of retrograde planets in natal chart and its effect.

Hi Manali,

Most Literatures in Retrogession that work are in Western Astrology. Simply because major research in Retrogression has been in Western. Sparked by the insights of Eastern renders it quite Brilliant.

Govardhantji hit upon the main book on Retrogression which I adore much; and it has a strong Western influence.

I have studied Vedic astrology quite in depth, but not yet enough for an adequate experience.

The Eastern and Western astrology are not great/rigid divides.
One must remember that people migrated all along thru the ages, exchanged concepts thru barter etc. etc.    Religions were created... different.. were similar in many ways somewhere.

In my experience Retrograde planets are quite common in charts.

But the absence of retrograde planets in charts, make the natures of the persons more simple and less complicated; and should never be equated with success or failure.

Retrograde planets just make their natures try to achieve more.. a power necessary sometimes. It makes their natures less easy; their subconscious forces stronger/harder/ more difficult.

Too many retrogrades make their natures complex, but more force needed for achievement.

It is more about subconscious forces acting within the personality.
