Hi,

I am new to this forum and to Vedic astrology, and I hope to get a general idea about the planet Venus. Even in Western astrology, Venus is associated with artists, actors etc. I am assuming it is the case with VA as well. I read something on the net that in VA, 10th house controls profession.

What if the native has both Mercury and Venus in 10th (Sagittarius)? Does this indicate conflict of some sort - because Mercury is generally associated with the intellect whereas Venus is the exact opposite?

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this.

Mercury and venus are close friends they never get into war. If these planets in 10th house then person is artistic, analytical.
again depends on strength of planets and house situated
result can be different if 10th house is virgo, 10th house is pisces.

10th is Sagittarius, so I am assuming Venus is debilitated there. What I mean by war is they are different from each other according to the usual description. Venus is sensual whereas Mercury is spiritual, and so on.

Dear Ahmd,

In Sagittarius Venus is not debilitated, it is debilitated in Virgo . Venus, Mercury and Sun are referred as Tripods in Astrology and usually they are seen together only . Just see charts, u will know this. Very much close to each other. In Virgo Mercury is exalted . Sagittarius is the place where no planets get either debilitation or exaltation and it is house of Guru. Guru is called Minister of Devas , Dev Guru , and Venus is Guru of Asuras. As Astro brother said, Mercury and Venus are friends and not enemies.
