Bcoz of time factor i was not able to read your thread properly thus could nt get the point.ALater when i read it , i realise your question is something i always believd in .
There is lot of discontentment around and I am a firm beliver of wat you said, i.e. people are discontent coz of the fact that there is no sync between their:- desire, capability and achievement, one more factor adds on if the native is image concious then then they also try to match up their image with their desire.. And end up being more discontent coz even if they get wat they wanna to get they realise later that , wat they have achieved is wat thei image wanted NOT wat they wanted.
Now, how to delineate this. I always start with Moon and effects on it. Coz Moon is heart and desire is very close to heart  . So to understand more about native's desire.. moon always plays a key role(as per me)and then 11th house from Moon..Generally effect of nodes(esp Rahu) directly on moon makes native having async relationship between his desire and his own capability.One of the reason is coz of least undestanding of the native of his ownself.Also dispositor of moon plays a strong role in its to.

Moon afflicted by Rahu adds to the voracity for sure. From my database, here's a chart with Rahu and moon 3 degrees apart in the tenth
house which is Saggi (both move to eleventh in bhava chalit). Jupiter also
resides in the tenth house but does not displace itself in bhava chalit. I have fair knowledge of the native's life, so it matches up.
