Hello folks,
I am new to posting here. I sent this to my list this morning and thought people here might be interested in it.
Any thoughts?
=========================
Interesting shift now with Venus and Mars in Leo for a few weeks.
Passions will be running high.
This week we will get to experience a few of the strong twists and turns of this placement with the Moon in Aries (ruled by Mars) Monday through Wednesday, then Taurus (ruled by Venus), Thursday and Friday.
In general Mars and Venus together make for a lot of passion, and that also means sexual passion.
In relationship astrology a Mars / Venus connection in synastry (comparing two charts with each other) will show a lot passion - especially if it is between the man's Mars (his planet of sexual energy and conquest) and the woman's Venus (her planet of sexual attraction and beauty).
This connection feels most fulfilling because the gender identities are also reinforced. Woman's Mars and man's Venus is also attractive, but the woman may be in the initiating role in that case which often makes for some stress.
When a person has these two planets joined in their chart they are often very passionate individuals. depending on the signs it may be very hot and individualized (male signs) or more sensual and smoldering (female signs).
Leo is a very affectionate and passionate sign, fiery. Mars does very well here because like all fire signs, Leo is oriented toward instinctive action, not ideas (air signs), sentiment (water signs) or accumulation (earth signs). Since Mars is the planet of action and getting onto the next thing he is feeling great in Leo. Venus on the other hand is not about action. She is about enjoying the moment and happiness.
Venus in Leo - The Tyranny of Romance
It is better that we think about and consider the things that will make us happy (air), then move slowly into a long lasting value-building commitment once we have chosen. Venus in fire signs is often too driven to act instinctively based on the moment at hand (fire) - oriented toward satisfying desires - rather than considering and pondering, then committing, as described.
We can see this simply, by considering the signs Venus rules Libra (air) and Taurus (earth). The signs are just the masculine and feminine natures of the planets that rule them. Venus in Leo is literally out of her element. So, there may be a more demanding nature to venus and relationships now.
Is there anything more unattractive than someone demanding to be loved because of how much they deserve it and how great they are? (their words). This is a composite of the problematic Venus in Leo model. Love me Dammit!! may be the slogan of this placement - A Tyranny of Romance.
Natives with this placement are also very affectionate, committed, loyal, creative and expressive people - and often oozing with sex appeal (Yes, its true). But eventually the disappointed romantic ideal of Venus in Leo leads to higher possibilities: developing the courage to see beyond personal pleasure and fulfillment and sacrificing personal passions toward things more long-lasting and eternal (Leo is Sattwic). So if you have this in your chart, please no hate mail!
On a personal note, as one who has his natal Mars in Leo, I seem to find people who have their natal Venus in Leo.. nuff said there.
Venus will be in Leo until July 31 - She will be with Mars in Leo until July 20
best wishes,
Sam
