I am wondering, because I have studied Western astrology very in-depth, and I love it! I too "swear by it". But, I haven't studied any other types of astrology... so, is Vedic something I should look into? I love learning new ideas, and am very open. I don't think Western is the only way by any means! I've simply enjoyed it & found it useful so far.
Can anyone give me any experiences or opinions? Have you studied more than one type? And which ones do you like best?
Thanks!!!

Instead of anyone answering your query, I suggest you read through the subject of Vedic astrology and try to get an answer for your query. According to me any subject is good and best in its own way.

Yeah, I agree. I'm usually the type of person who will go research anything I am interested in (I am completely self-taught and highly skilled in Western astrology). The only reason I am asking this question is because I actually have tried looking into Vedic, but as someone mentioned earlier, it is very confusing and disorganized on the internet sites. Basically, I am willing to go to the depths of studying it (as I have with Western) but I didn't want to "waste" my time if it wasn't something I knew was really going to be worth it. Do you see what I'm saying?
Basically, I have spent hours upon months and now years, studying more in-depth in Western than anyone I know, and frankly I'm a bit drained of energy to be searching for answers on a completely new topic, if it isn't something I KNOW is going to be worth it. For example, if someone said, "oh, it's okay... but I like Western better" then I probably wouldn't really waste my time with it. So, I just wanted to see what people had to say, to get a general idea of whether it was "worth my time" (because, like I say, the websites are harder to understand and it's less organized).
THANKS EVERYBODY, for your responses! I appreciate it Anybody else who wants to add, I will keep checking for responses.

*If anyone has some source recommendations, where I could get started learning about Vedic, I would really appreciate it. Books, internet sites, or anything... Let me know the easiest, or most practical way to get started.

As mentioned in my previous post, Rohiniranjan's crystal pages primer is a good place to start for a primarily western audience. It's available freely for download. I must clarify that this primer being free has nothing to do with the clarity and the completeness of it. I have read a bunch of basic books, most of them bought at a price and still believe that this free primer is the best among all I have read. In case the link does not work, please google "crystal pages primer" and it will be up there in the first couple listings.

Once you are done grasping it cover to cover(which will take time), you can read B V Raman. You can try Sam Geppi but he charges for almost everything. I checked out a few of his classes and his grounding of Vedic philosophy is what impressed me.

I completely agree with Govardhanji's advice and that's exactly what I did myself but unfortunately most get so frustrated trying to navigate the conundrum( I did not but kept at it sometimes travelling places to meet genuine people, spending my hard earned money to buy books, readings, classes etc.) after a little while that they end up with a bitter experience and start trashing Vedic astrology. Having spent a considerable amount of time with vedic astrology, I am fully convinced that the body of knowledge although disorganized to the liking of a western educated audience applies fully today and  can bring inner peace. Please note however, that I say this about vedic astrology, philosophy etc and not about vedic astrologers.

hope this helps.

Thank you very much, Projenator! I will definitely follow your advice, and be wary of the Vedic astrologers too.
Thank you, Thank you!
