story is from Ramayana:

Monster king ravana wanted to be powerful across the world ( atala, patala , rasatala, deva , bhoomi). Somebody told him that controlling Nava/nine planets he will live powerful/peaceful/happy life. Hence he captured 9 planets and put them sleeping on their back on the steps climbinging his chair. there also story goes when his son indrajith was born. astrologer told him that all planets in their exalted/own house will make his son long lived/powerful. he orders all planets to stay in their own/exalted houses during birth of his son. But saturn ( who never listens to any one) makes backward/retro move to 12th house during birth. This changes fate of his son indrajith. Hence ravana gets angry and breaks leg of saturn.
He tortures satrun daily basis by keeping his leg on him( saturn was kept in sleeping pos on his back near ravanas chair).

Lord hanuman in search of Ma sita visits lanka and then he creates havoc by killing mosters. Ravana's army captures hanuman and then put fire to his tail. Hanuman moves around lanka city and spreads fire in lanka. during this time he releases 9 planets when ravana and his army concentrating on capturing hanuman.

when saturn released, he thanks hanuman and tells hanuman that people praying hanuman will not be troubled by saturn. Hence during sadesathi doing puja of hanuman , chanting hanuman chilsa is good. Since hanuman is follower of lord rama reading tulsi ramayan during sadesathi is helpful

Now about gengelly oill, it is black color and it is represented by saturn. also urad dal is black representing saturn. putting oil on lord hanuman will reduce ill effects of saturn. Also in south india Vada made of urad dal is put as mala to hanuman to reduce ill effects of saturn

There is a popular belief that worshipping Lord Hanuman will help in removing the hardships caused by Lord Shani or Saturn in astrology. People worship Lord Hanuman on Saturdays to remove the malefic influence of Lord Shani on their horoscope. There is an interesting story regarding why worshipping Hanuman will help in Shani Dosha or Sade Sati.

Ravan, the demon-king Ramayana, had defeated all the Devas and had brought all the grahas (planets in astrology) under control. Ravana kept all the grahas (planets) suppressed beneath his leg. Ravana was also a great astrologer. When his eldest son, Indrajit, was about to be born he forcefully kept all the grahas in the most favorable astrological position.

The Demigods (Devas) were worried that if Ravana’s son was born in a favorable astrological position, he will be undefeatable. So the Devas asked all the grahas (planets) to move from the favorable position. But they told they were unable to escape from the foot of Ravana. Shani graham or Saturn agreed to help provided he was able to glance upon Ravana’s face.

There is a popular belief that Shani Drishti, or Shani’s glance, is as deadly as his position. Shani is believed to cast an evil eye and this causes deep trouble.

The Devas took the help of Saint Narada to achieve Shani Drishti.

Saint Narada reached the palace of Ravana and saw Shani and other planets under the feet of Ravana. Saint Narada praised Ravana’s victory over the grahas and said that he should stamp on their chest and this is true symbol of victory and not on their back as he is doing now.

Ravana agreed to Narada’s observation and immediately got the planets turned up. As Shani turned up, his glance fell on Ravana’s face and this kick-started his hardships.

To take revenge on Shani, Ravana kept him in a tiny prison that had no opening so that no one will again see Shani’s face.

After several years, when Lord Hanuman arrived on Lanka – Ravan’s kingdom – as a messenger from Lord Ram to Mata, he heard the cry of Lord Shani from a dark prison with no holes. Hanuman broke opened the prison and rescued Lord Shani.

Shani said that he is very thankful for helping him but as he has looked at the face of Lord Hanuman there will be hardships of Sade Sati or Shani Dosha for Hanuman. It is the divine scheme of things and no one can escape from it.

Hanuman wanted to know what sufferings he will have to face. Shani explained that first I will come upon on your head and this will make you leave your home, wife and sons and go about suffering.

Hanuman said that Shani can definitely come upon his head as he has no family and his abode is at the feet of Lord Ram.

Shani took refuge on Hanuman’s head. Hanuman then began to fight the demons that chased him in Lanka. In the process Hanuman began to head heavy boulders, trees and rocks. He crushed huge rocks with his head and Shani was getting hurt and suffering in the process.

Finally, Shani got away from Hanuman’s head and said that you are the only one who will have no effect of inauspiciousness. I cannot trouble you. Since you have saved me from Ravana’s prison I would like to give you a boon.

As the boon, Hanuman asked Lord Shani not trouble or cast evil eye on his devotees. Lord Shani promised not to trouble or cause hardships to Hanuman devotees

Other story of Shanidev and Hanumanji:
God Surya Dev is the Father of Shanidev. Surya dev is also the Guru (Teacher) of Hanumanji. After the completion of course, Surya dev said to Hanuman, “You have become adept in all forms of wisdom and weapons, now go to your mother Anjani” But Hanumanji requested to Surya dev “Give me an opportunity to repay for your tutelage” Suryadev said to Hanuman, “my wayward son shani is the cause of my sorrow only, Go and bring that wayward son of mine back to me”. Listening to the order of Surya dev, Hanuman went to Shanilok. When he was going to shanilok many planets tried to stop him but they were unable.
When Shanidev saw hanuman he asked to him, “Who are you? Why are you come here? Do you not fear with die?” Hanumanji replied, “I am Hanuman, The disciple of Lord Surya. Lord Shani you have all power & virtues, but your greatest drawback is disobeying your father. It’s not good & it’s the greatest sin. I have come here to take you to your father.” Hearing all this Shani became angry & said, “You don’t know my power, Powerful god also trembled with my power so better thing for you go back immediately otherwise I will burn you” Hanuman replied, “I have not came here to go back”. Then Shani Dev crooked gaze on Hanuman but shanidev could not burn him so, Shanidev sat on his head. They were inside a room. Immediately Hanuman increased his size because of which shani pressed between hanuman and the ceiling. When the pain was unbearable, Shani requested to God Hanuman to release him. When shanidev became free from Hanuman then shanidev Promised to Hanuman, “Anyone who will worship you on Saturday, I will never be terminate them.” After that shanidev & hanumanji went to Suryadev. Shanidev became happy to see them.

You can impress Hanumanji & shanidev by Reading Hanuman Chalisa. Hanuman chalisa is given below. here, you can also listen this.
