Hello All,

I've been thinking about this for some time now. Where in the Vedic natal chart might I find what kind of relationship one may have with their parents. In western astrology I have Saturn retro in the 10th house, which means my father was absent. I've never met him and I don't think that he's aware of my existence. I have sun square moon, indicating that my parents didn't get along.

I grew up envying other little girls who had close relationships with their mothers. I feel like this is the reason why I'm afraid to enter into a relationship.

I don't have a really good relationship with my mother. I've never felt that she loved me. I still feel unloved by her, today. She was always so negative. I sometimes thinks she really hates me.

I don't know much about my father or my paternal side because my mother refuses to talk about the past. The little I do know about my paternal side, is that my father's brother is very artistic and creative. I feel like I'm closer to my paternal side, even though I've never met them. I made a promise to myself that when I have children I will love them unconditionally.

The question is, where in my chart would I find  what kind of relationships one might have with their parents or information about parents?

In Vedic, 9th house is considered for Father, 4th house is for mother. SUN is natural lord of the father(we call it as Pitrukaraka), Moon natural lord (Matrukaraka) for Mother. The dipositor of 4th house is called Matrustanadhipati and that of 9th house is considered to be pitrustanadhipati.  Any malefic or affliction to the 4th, 9th, or its lord or the depositors of such house are considered for determining the bad relationship or problems with parents
