Dear all,

How much do you weigh shadbala calculations in such cases as -
when a planet receives a very high strength due to its placement in the same friendly sign in most/all vargas (varga-utama) but that sign being its debilitation sign.
say, for venus in virgo or mars in cancer.

What if such a planet is receiving, by far, the highest number of rupas in any horoscope, like venus acquiring 7-8 rupas or mars acquiring 6-7 rupas.

I mean, considering or not considering the neech-bhanga factors; does this thing of shadbala hold any releavance?

Thanks,
Sangeeta

Shadbala calculation is very clear.... where is the question of weight?

A planet with good shadbala in debilitated state is not as debilitated as it can be with shadbala around 3 rupas

Strong shadbala planet in friendly house will have strong good aspects and results with regard to its placement

Planet attaining simhasamsa or more in vargas... excellent if well placed

yes what you are saying is obvious, but i am confused because
Consider case of venus in virgo, as an example:-
1. Venus is in the state of sleeping (debilitation), so results due to it are quoted as nil.
2. If we follow the shadbala rules, it says stana bala takes care of the exaltation/debilitation
and sapta varga bala does not count exaltation/debilitation. So if this venus is in virgo in
shad vargas too, it should get zero/minimum points. In such cases, due to sapt varga shadbala
this Venus may receive 20 virupas per varga due to being in rashi of great friend mercury; while
an exalted Venus in pisces in multiple vargas receives 4 virupas due to being in a enemy rashi
of jupiter. Even astrological softwares seem to count shadbala this way.
So how can one imagine any debilitated planet get more shadbala than when it is exalted?

This case doesn't arise for planets like Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury as they get exalted in
their friends rashi and debilitated in enemy rashi.

Am i misinterpreting anything or this is purposely done to highlight the depth of the fact wherein
Venus and Mars become debilitated in their fast friend rashis.
