True there are very few who take time out and study chart and then start saying.It has been mentioned by KN Rao ji that thre are charts which wont take few mins to undestand but there are charts which may take day or 2 to study BUt true that not many give time to one chart coz it cost money...
For example how many actually bother to go for birth rectification which shud be main thing once u get a native coz borth time is rarely true coz of lack of awareness and also coz lack of actual meaning of birth time.
How many actually takes intiative to go for divisional chart or second opinion from another dasa other than vimshottari dasa..And so on..............
So u see u cant put blame just on astrology as a subject but people who are studying them are also o be blamed.

Thats Y Kn Rao ji are not too much into encouraging people to become professional astrologer...

I will put hre few cents of my understanding here.True it never matters to me whether astrology is Science or not.
Though we can have bigger discussion over it but it wont be useful for anyone of us .

Though I wont say in india we believe out of tradition of belief but I will just talk about myself..I am very big skeptic and
I started studying this science(rather Palmistry was my starting point) to understand it and then criticise it coz it is the
EASIEST TASK to criticise anything without knowing it like people started criticising "STEPHEN HAWKINS" theory which
does not agree with existence of electrons and protons in nature but he end up shuting them up with his experiment and his book.
(but lets not go there )
After studying and learning it i relaise it does work though there were flaws but that was not coz astrology as a subject was wrong
or right but coz we MAY have interpretted it wrongly.

You could not find much data on vedic astrology coz of few reasons.One of them is u didnt pay for them

First of all let me tell you KN Rao ji has biggest collection of charts in the world at personal level and his all deductions are based on
his self study and now days study of his own students on these charts which is growing.
There are few articles by Rohiniranajan ji(I remember 2 of them right now which is on retrograde planets and on Kuja Dosha) whcih based on statistics.

There are books by KN Rao jia and his students on working of different dasa systems and working out of marriage and children based on analysis of charts.

There is site online I think its name is "databank" or something like this(u can gogle them) which again is a paid site from whre u can details of
different celebrities whom we know very well and thus can reach to detail of their personal life achevements applying different dasa systems and so on...

Maximum studies which are done is astrology are mainly restricted to astrologer bcoz of few reasons coz pf PARAMPARA system which exist in india.
Secondly , coz they just wana to pass it to RIGHT person. and reason for this is that in india astrology is treated much more piously then western astrolog in west.It is called DIVINE SCIENCE in india and is said to be worse when get into wrong hands

Thirdly,and one of the major reason is that these astrologers are too old or rigid to access computer  or internet thus and still are computer illeterate thus coz put their believes and research online for public where as in west astrologers are much more open to computers and also coz computers are easily accessible.So their research is quite restricted.
U can yourself see that in india computers got common among puclic only after 2000 and inter sarted becoming part of urban culture  after that but still it is not the case in rural india where great astrologer still exist

If you read KN Rao ji's chara dasa you will hear name "VEMURI SHASTRI" who he says to be teacher whom he never met and who lived in villages of Andra Pradesh

It is nice to know that u really wanna to start your research thats something great.I really wish condition of vedic astrology will be quite different in cuming years where literates like you wil doing their research and putting them online.

One thing i would like to mention is that prepare your armour/weapons before going on war.i.e. please be well prepared with other concepts(you can join learning forum of astrology in this Mystic) of astrolgy before going on about this yoga coz there can be many other reasons for an event rather than just KSY or KAY.

Thanks for putting so much effort in replying. I appreciate it.

I agree with most of what u said in 2nd post from K N Rao Ji's work to mention of Vemuri Rama Murthy Shastri.

But one thing you must accept is even K N Rao ji says there is 70 to 80% chance of accuracy even for the best astrologer. You may say its only because  of our limitations which is not a good argument to give for SCIENCE. You cannot expect more accuracy than that from predictions.

Thats why astrology is more of an art and statistical study because now a days u need not even put huge efforts to make charts every information is only a mouse click away and the left matter is prediction.

Now there is are good reasons why highly educated people donot take time to study astrology.
1) lack of time to do such extensive study(Mostly statistical)
2) Even after 20/30 years of hard work u end up getting 70% results and thats not even guaranteed.

If you ask me personally from what i have seen 60% is more accurate.

I donot care if research is done on KSY or any other such yogas or raja yogas. That is for intense practitioners and we would always first study which yogas are more relevant to us any how and its hard to get enough no of charts for such yogas for observing and testing.

But one field which definitely requires research is marriage compatibility or the kuta agreement because thats one thing in india we are highly dependent on astrology and its very easy to get enough data for accuracy testing.

I also appreciate ur others suggestions.

And one more thing for people living in north (or vice versa) its easy to think that some astrologer in interior villages of andhra (or south) could get 100% results. Trust me they cannot and i know what i am talking abt.
