[/quote]I myself could have used SCIENCE instead of Other predictive methods, But i chose not to.
Astrology cannot be seen in same light as SCIENCE.
For past 1year i have been searching for any data giving a statistical study on accuracy of predictive vedic astrology and i found none (kindly give me any links or articles if u know). At the same time i found many on western astrology.
We in India follow astrology out of belief and tradition and not because it is science and which it is not.
And now coming to your examples. What happened to you is quite common. The first task of a doctor is to diagnose the ailment and it totally depends on the ability of the individual doctor but not on medicine. Medicine works only when the diagnosis is right.
If doctors could not find the reason behind the symptoms then they lookup case studies, consult various other doctors and they try to come to conclusion. For this they have huge archives of materials and previous case studies.
Where as astrology doesn't have this privilege. It depends on classic books such as brihat parasara hora sastra.
For astrology to be called science it has to pass the test of accuracy with a huge pool of statistical data.
When a astrologer looks at a chart with particular combination then he should be able to predict confidently and how could he do that? He could only do that if he knows that there are at least 10000 such cases with similar combination giving so and so results.
So i would like to Separate astrology and science.

Hey Gs !!
Count me not on either side to prove vedic astrology science or else.
But interesting I find is your search (duration 1) year which lead u to find no statistical data on VA but a lot in Western. I hope you will surely share those links with us for our better understanding.
If sciences are to be defined based on mere accuracy or pool of some statistical data .. then perhaps we might even agree the all what termed as science today still provides no accuracy though provides statistical data but of no use. The world still struggles how to define Singularity as current day physics is inept to define it.
A Jyotish need not see 1000 charts to predict something confidently as long he is confident in his understanding of basics of jyotish shastra laid by BPHS. Its we the lesser mortals who are not confident in our learning hence rely on statistical data.
Statistical data can only be a guideline (at the most ) but cannot be a dictum in itself. Instead of searching for data you could have created it your self. Take 1000 charts find common yogas and cross check them.
I hope you do not mind me barging in and diverting the KSY or KAY topic.
warmly
Asro
