Thanks raman and thanks especially sahil i wanted some one to write the actual name KAY for the example. I know 3 personal charts with similar combination and wanted some one to actually write the name.

Since we all agree on the definition given by sandhuji for directions let me make couple of points.

It was really sad to see different astrologers giving different definitions for perhaps the most dreaded yoga. probably because it came up only in last century and not every one is completely aware.

But the remedy for this dosha is quite a popular one and is performed at triambakeswar nashik.

And there is a definite chance of some acquaintance of ours to have this dosha because the combination repeats itself quite frequently with regular intervals and many celebrities/politicians have the combination.

Raman Ji,

What i meant was kala amrit yoga for the example given.

To add a point it actually makes sense for those who want to cash this dosha to have moon outside of the ra-ke axis and it could still be called kala sarpa dosha because moon takes only 2.5 days to move out of a house where as me, ve, su take one month which gives atleast 2 weeks chance for the combination exist and thus many more people could be effected by it and duly seek remedies.

one more point since u mentioned sade sati.

if u jst go by definition of saturn its not good in 12,1,2 house (sade sati), ardhashtama sani(4th house) is bad and ashtama sani(8th house) is even more bad to be clear sani is good only in 3,6,11 houses.
That means in 30years of sani movement roughly 22.5 years transit is not good. jst look how easy it is for some one to create fear and encash.

Dear GS,

This is a controversial subject matter, and thread as well... which is appropriate since Rahu and Ketu are both controversial beings / rakshashas. But rather than asking for *definitions* of things, it is far better to seek the *meanings* of things. The idea that certain prepackaged "yogas" produce prepackaged results as soon as a list of criteria is met is simply an immature understanding of astrology, so it is better to attempt to understand the lesson that the yoga attempts to impart about the *way* the planets interact with one another in various conditions.

Kal-Sarpa dosha is NOT a classical yoga. I.E. it is NOT mentioned in classical literature such as Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra.

The rule is that all planets must be inbetween rahu and ketu. I.E. every planet must be on one side of the axis between rahu and ketu.

There are seemingly dozens of subrules about kala sarpa dosha. To be frank and honest... they are being made up by modern astrologers, by and large. That is not a bad thing, but it lets you know that you too shouldn't just memorize other people's rules - you should attempt to figure out meanings on your own and potentially come up with your own rules as well, as you mature.

The reason kala sarpa is significant is that the nodes will transit one planet after another without cessation for a long period of time.

Hopefully this information is helpful to you

LOL....

GS ji man u have taken my heart away....

U know wat u r asking now is something which is EXACTLY mentioned by KN Rao ji in one of his interviews......

he said same think....that Saturn is supposedly good in only 3 houses 3,6,11 then it means out of 30 years of his transit only 7.5 years shud be good and others shud be bad for any native but this is not wat really happens....
So this cant be true invariably.
GS ji wat we have to realise is few things...that while analysing a chart we have to go thrugh many stages before reaching on any conclusion and in those steps yoga and Gochar consideration comes quite late and before that we got many stages to first understand  what actually is gona hapen.
These stages include(I will put Kn rao ji's work here coz he was most clear about his aproach):- PACDARES..

which means first understand the meaning of
Position of planet,
Then
Aspect of planets on it
then
Conjunction of planets with other planets and
THEN Yoga  consideration comes in and Gochar(or transits) comes quite late thus Sade satti and kantaka or ashtama shani consideration comes quite  late. Thus they do matter and do show their effect but not in SECLUSION which astrologers do now days.

So you see there many rules to follow before jumping on a conclusion.

Regards,
Raman

Hello Raman ji,

Thanks for ur comments but i have seen people get excited abt many things in astrology without having any knowledge. sade satti, manglik dosh, placement of sani in rasi chart and transit of sani in various houses these are general concerns which most people have. Recently a uncle of mine said "kala sarpa dosha" is a very dangerous dosha and it completely destroys a person. Thats it he knows nothing beyond that and he gave a statement based on may be one source. That's the case with most of the people.

Astrology like other predictive methods is not 100% accurate errors are common. May be our ancient seers or people with great ability could give accurate predictions everytime but even parasara says its not easy to predict the exact time of death of a person and thats the only certain thing that we know would happen eventually.

From what i have seen there are many astrologers may be most of them are good but only few take time and study and give predictions.  They are too complacent and are too busy to go through only one chart at a time. all this is resulting in accuracy problems.

GS
