Is this true even when the aspecting planet is in dusthana?
Also does the rule apply only to planets in their own houses or also to the houses where they are exalted? And finally what about an exalted planet in dusthana aspecting its own house - say Ma in 8th in Ge As aspecting Ar, the 11th?

Lord Rama had Exalted jupiter in Cancer along with Moon. Rama went to forest ( vanavasa) during  Jup MD. Jupiter is bad if placed in 1st house, 5th house ( putrakaraka , karako bhava nashaya).

similary Saturn represents Dharma. He is always bad when he is placed in Cancer and Leo. If saturn is Asc lord then person's life and events will be ruled by saturn's placements ( He ruins the house where he is placed in, normal rule of Asc lord placement).

What happens when Jupiter and Saturn are in conjuction (in my case in navamsha they occupy Gemini sign, 4th house).

Dear astro_scholar ji,
This wont be right in saying that jup is solely resposible for Sri rama's exile.
There can be multiple reasons thus we cant say that placement of jup in its own house is responsible for this. Also MD does not have much say in the events (as per notion AD got mor say in it though combination of MD and AD is to be understod more for understanding)coz if that would have been the case we can expect multple marriages of atleast affairs if not marriage during period of Venus or 7th lord or may be UL.... thus we cant jump on this with one reason..
Though can be further reasons like Rahu in 6th house(house of Foreign land) which again is house of jupiter which is placed in MOST movable sign i.e. CAncer thus this can also be reasons. Also Raashi for Forest i.e. Vrishabha its lord is palced in 12th house which again represents foreign. Thus he has to leave and go foreign land  , to forest.
So we cannt blame Jup placed in some house and aflicting it.Coz jup placed in lagna shud have harmed his name and fame which it didn't.
Rather he gt more names amongs  VANARS..

Also this maxim is not very wel accepted though im not saying it is wrong but it cant be first condition to be pointed out in a chart for reasoning sake..

Regards,
Raman
