This Debate is not a new one  but I wish to express my view. All astrologers will agree that there exist an area of free will in every individual . Every single moment one lives is not determined by the destiny. Had it been so, I would have asked the god to settle my scorecard in just one birth. But such is not the case. Every bad karma is to be settled by doing good karma and for this particular reason god gives us our area of free will.

Coming to the astrological point of view the area of free will can be studied studying the planetary combination.
The planets that determine your free will are the two luminaries ,i.e Sun & Moon
Sun representing Atma (Undestructible Force) gives Atmabal (Willpower)
Moon Representing Mann (Sustaining Force) gives Manobal (Confidence)
Lagna lord Representing (physical force) gives Sharirik bal
Other planets too also provide free will but are subordinate to the above three.

However the planets that reduces the area of free will are Karmic Planets ,i.e Rahu-ketu axis as well as Saturn.These Karmic Planets bring forth your past Bad karmas for which there is no escape route. Therefore whenever these planets afflict other planets especially the above mentioned the area of free will get tremendously reduced

Dear Sanket ,

Can you define what exatly the free will is.?

Suppose i want to achieve something substantial , and i make every possible effort for it , but i fail. Is it free will ?

As per Bhagvad Gita we keep on trying & retrying for our needs, this is called karma, Is this called Free will?

Are we free to die or take birth anytime , we want to ?

People who are successful can boast of their trials and turbulations. But what about those who fail , do they come under the purview of free will ?

I applied the check to myself, on several counts  and ' sadly though i found that i just dont have a free will as per the defination formed in my mind. But the point to be upbeat about is that neither am i a drifter , to drift along the pace, i try my best , i give my best but i leave the rest to  The "Almighty'.

In my definition...Free will = you have a choice between two or more possibilities....the one you choose change your path in that direction.

We must remember that we interact with other people.....My free will shall be put up against others free will or need, that's why we can't always tell our outcome.

If I use my free will to take an education as dentist...then I have the free will to choose between a  dentist firm or start my own.

If I shall on holliday...my free will can choose between all thos places I can afford to travel too....and so on.

My free will can bee seen as our "motor", if we put up goals and work hard towards them...we might succeed.

If I use my free will to wait for something to happen, then your "karma", or "fate" will decide what happen to you, and you have less control with your life. and you are like a cork on the big ocean hoping to reach shore.

Seriously! This short clip reminds me also of astrology!!
