11 th signifies gains , not necesarily monetary, the gains made by Swami vivekananda in spirtuality and mind attunement is remarkable and for all to see. So if he has high of 42 in house of gains, it means gains of spirtual & transcendental nature.

Just one more addition to it . 11th house is also suppose to be house of desire or i think according to uttarakalamitra it also called house of "Evil desire"...But if we leave eveil apart u can see that being house of desire and having high score it shows getting close to fulfillment of desire.. dont you think his desire got of understanding spirituality got fulfilled.

I find it very challenging to understand the houses and the planets and till date, I don't really understand them. I have nothing more than a vague idea. Amongst the distilled texts, I find the house descriptions in RR's Jyotish primer the most complete, so I refer to them all the time. For 11th house, it says and I quote

"Means of earning and gains, accomplishments, freedom from misery and pain, realization of ambitions........................."

If I am understanding the above correctly, this is much more than dollars and cents, it's not mere earnings and gains but MEANS of it. I am sure you are fully aware Vivekananda did not come to this world to "gain" dollars and cents.

All that being said, for those who sing Adnan Sami's "Lift Karade, dollar de de, pound de de, cash de de ya check de de, bunglow, motor, car dila de de, ek nahi, char dila de" every minute of their existence on earth and take every step accordingly, gains and ambitions can definitely mean such things because that is their "means of earnings and gains" if you will.

hope I have not confused you and made you wonder why I am quoting RR and Adnan Sami at the same time, except that they are both Canadians, if I am not wrong. If so, I beg your pardon in advance.
