Questions about Nakshatras

I don't know if my question is related to Vedic Astrology so sorry if it's not related.

In Hinduism, we believe in rebirth, right? When we're reborn, are we born under the same nakshatra? Or do we change as if it's some sort of a growing experience? You know, like a lifetime in each nakshatra before you achieve moksha or something.

Also, could someone tell me about Tisya/Pusya? And are they any way linked or similar to Purva Phalguni?

Lastly, why are the Nakshatras different from Western Astrology? I mean, I'm Cancer which is controlled by the Moon in the Western Astrology, but I'm Purva Phalguni which is Leo and controlled by the Venus.

Sorry, I'm trying to research about Tisya/Pusya, Purva Phalguni, Previous Incarnations, and to see if there is any connection at all. I would really appreciate it if you could help me out. Perhaps, I shouldn't mix different beliefs together, but I believe the answers I'm personally seeking will show up with all the information from different beliefs. Right now, I'm not getting anywhere. I feel like I'm spinning in circles.

Anyway, I would really appreciate your help. Thanks again.

dear IZUNO,

If u wish to know about NAkshtras , then please read the Lesson no .8 , in vedic astrology learner forum, given by Our rishi rahulji and vivekji, that will give u some

sort of informations relating to Nakchatras, and their role in   vedic astrology.

Here i wish to give u the explanations to the two nakchatras , pushya and purva palguni in vedic astrology.

Pushya

Pushya is ruled by Brihaspati, the God of Divine wisdom. Its power is the ability to create spiritual energy (brahmavarchasa shakti). Its basis above is sacrificial worship. Its basis below is the worshipper. These three result in the creation of spiritual energy.

Pushya Nakshatra increases our good karma and good efforts. The value of this Nakshatra for religious and spiritual practices is emphasized. Brihaspati is the lord of speech, particularly prayer, and of all forms of worship, including meditation, so these indications are all in harmony with his functions.

Purva Phalguni

Purva Phalguni in the Vedic order is ruled by Aryaman, the God of contracts and unions. It gives the power of procreation (prajanana shakti). Its basis above is the wife or female partner. Its basis below is the male or masculine partner. These three together bring about the creation of the fetus.

Purva Phalguni brings about union and procreation on all levels. Yet this follows some official agreement or marriage and is part of the creation of a new family or social order. Aryaman governs such productive alliances and also arranges the marriage festival.

If u wish to know more about nakshathras and vedic astrology , please visit this link, your question about Nakshathras made me search this link. I thank u for this.

I should be the one thanking you for the help. I'm currently in the middle of my exams so I briefly looked through the websites.

It still brings up more questions to me. Perhaps, I need to read more. I'm trying to see the connection between all astrologies I know. I'm researching three different astrologies.

Western
Indian (Vedic)
Chinese (Not the Zodiac.)

Both the Vedic and the Ancient Chinese Astrology have 27-28 different nakshatras or what the Chinese called Moon Stations or Lodges, but they're so different. Is the Vedic Astrology ancient too? It's giving me a headache.

Because of my exams, I'm not able to research as much. So, right now, all I can do is collect information. If you know any information, please help. I would really appreciate it. :D

Astrology | Astrology In Various Parts Of The World

Astrology has been gaining much acceptance in various parts of the world. It is fascinating to know that while only about thirty-one percent of adults in the America believe in astrology, research studies indicate that fifty-two percent of Europeans acknowledge astrology to be a science.

Western Astrology

The predominant forms of astrology that are currently practice are Indian astrology, Chinese astrology, and Western astrology.  In America, Western astrology is the most prevailing.  The most popular aspect of Western astrology is the zodiac sign or horoscopes. It is based on the area of constellations and each of which is explained as the association of various figures or representations. The zodiac or horoscope signs are Aries (the ram), Taurus (the bull), Gemini (the twins), Cancer (the crab), Leo (the lion), Virgo (the virgin), Libra (the scales), Scorpio (the scorpion), Sagittarius (the archer), Capricorn (the goat), Aquarius (the water-bearer) and Pisces (the fishes).

Horoscope of an individual person is dependent on which sign was in effect or arising when a person was born; and whether a person was born on the "cusp," which refers to the very beginning or the very end of the particular sign.  On top of using a sign to forecast one's life events and predict one's future, a sign is also thought to correspond to learning about specific characteristics of one's personality and even inclination toward various possible health conditions. Astrological sign is understood to govern certain parts of one's body.  Peculiar as it may sound, many who have conscientiously studied this type of information have realized it to be quite accurate.  For example, while every Virgo is not "practical," "critical," or "stubborn", this characteristic is indeed a natural factor amongst many who were born under this astrological sign.

Vedic Astrology

Another type of astrology is Indian astrology, which is also known as Jyotisa, or Vedic astrology.  It is based on the belief of connection between the microcosm and the macrocosm, the smaller parts and the universal.  Although interest in Vedic astrology is popular as it is currently practiced in India, it is also a vital part of their culture, as people depend on it for all of their major decisions in their lives, from love, marriage to business.

During the last few decades, Indian astrology has become globally widespread. It has always been a part of the Indian's culture for centuries.  Vedic astrology is believed to have been revealed more than 7000 years ago.  What is believed to have started with the Brahma, has become so popular and has spread to far away places like Arizona. Arizona is also the home ground of the American College of Vedic Astrology. Currently it is offering several online courses for those interested in learning how to become certified astrologers.  Most astrologers offering Vedic astrology information and readings are found in India.

Chinese Astrology

Chinese astrology is associated with the calendar cycle, rather than on constellations of the stars or planets.  In this type of astrology, the horoscope signs are named after the twelve animals like the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig.  Going by the Chinese lunar calendar, each of these animals is associated to the lunar months. The animals are assigned to the time and day during which the individual person was born. On top of these twelve animals, there are 5 elements like wood, fire, earth, metal and water. These five elements are believed to have the abilities to change the characteristics of the animals' signs.

One of the main objective and purpose of astrology is to be able to achieve balance, and to do whatever changes possible and necessary in order to attain that balance.  Chinese astrology has also started to achieve widespread popularity in America.

About the Chinese Astrology, there was also an ancient astrology that the Chinese people abandoned. It's actually every similar to Vedic Astrology.

Well, I don't know if I can call it an astrology, but they also have Chinese/Japanese Constellations like we do in Vedic Astrology. For example, Kishuku (Chinese) or Tamahome (Japanese) is also known as Pushya Nakshatra in Sanskrit. Like the Vedic Astrology, the Chinese had 28 constellations. I read somewhere that the Vedic Astrology dropped one of the constellations or something so that's why it has 27 or something.

I thought it was interesting that the Chinese/Japanese people had it too. Then, I started thinking that if Indians can predict many information from our Nakshatras, then what did the Chinese/Japanese predict with their constellations?

More than the Chinese Zodiac, I'm researching about the constellations. So many different types of people are born each year, and I don't think you can say that they are all the same because they were born in that year.

Once again, thanks for the help and for wishing me good luck.
