Hi,

Yes, chalit chakras are of few variations, like:
K.P. (Placidus)
Porphyry (Sripati padhhati)
Parashara or True Vedic
Equal houses= 2 types.

The other given systems in jhora, like Campanus, Regiomantus etc are followed by Western astrologer and the Easterns do not consider them.

It is for you to choose the one which works best.

RishiRahul

Dear Rishi,

Fair is fair, bhai...!

Did the easterners (meaning jyotishis), did not consider those because they did not try or because they tried those variations on the theme of unequal house division and those failed...?
Rishi= Easterners must have tried the western ones, but again, nowadays I find the westerns are more research oriented in experimenting.
However, I feel that The easterners have come to Sripati paddhati (porphyrys I think).
Though the Easterns believe, very correctly, that the rasi mansions giving very fair results. So many traditional astrologers are seen giving black and white (not detailed) correct predictions just from the 12 rasis.

Did the tropical/western zodiac disciplines focus much on the unequal house divisions because the sayana zodiac is earth (and season) based and hence must be attuned to the earth-perspective, while the nirayana system of jyotish, uses the zodiac that is visible in the sky (WYSIWYG zodiac as some of us have called it!)?
Rishi=I always believed that the visible is the main (my belief is through actual results in my experimenting). For example I found the tip of Sun's disc being visible in the eastern horizon correct; till now.
What you suppose may very much be the truth.

Why did Krishnamurthi a deeply religious Hindu choose Placidus House system that belongs to the same 'line of thinking' as Regiomontanus, Campanus, East point, Zenith and probably thirty similar others...?
Rishi=In his system, the cusps have a major role to play, as he uses the star and sub points in the cusps (as the starting points) as very indicative. I have found this to be very useful.

Porphyrii too which is really dependent on two measured cusps -- lagna and Medium coeli and the rest of the houses are 'derived' and trisected, etc...?
Rishi=I am not too conversant with the technicals behind it, but I would prefer porphyrys and placidius over the others, even true vedic.
I have found the mentioned 2 give better results in terms of chalit.
But yet to experiment with the two in terms of house cusps.

I have wondered at times about that. Have you too...?

Love, Light, Learning,

Rishi= What is your idea/view on these? Which do you think, at least in terms of logic is more logical? cusps based in medium coeli and lagna or   also based on the other houses?
Well, there could be points for and against too, if it cannot be said in black and white plainly.
This could be a very good area for research (I try to go for practical clearcut ways of research. Its a pity that some go for too much theory in research).

Thanks,

Rishi

Perhaps there is no Black and White bipolar reality, bhai!
Even though that would make our lives so much simpler?

MA created day and night, for sure but also dawn and dusk! Usha and Sandhyaa! Both beautiful names and experiences!

If REALITY could be black and white, computers would be ruling the earth now! They TRY and TRY sincerely, but fail! Don't they? We have seen many computer-generated astrological readings, including recent ones which talk about one factor at a time, whether a particular degree, or factor like Lillith or whatever!

And Jyotishis too! They extoll one rajyoga, or mars dosha and this or that! As if the end result is black and white!

GREY is boring, commonplace, less sexy than black and white and less sensational, but it is what REALITY is about!

In the dimension we live and breathe in! The sooner we tune into that, the faster we can move and help folks who need our help, rather than what has been accepted and allowed!

Could be as simple a reason as a widely-available and popular 'Table of Houses'?

Dear Dada,

In terms of testing house cusps, I was wondering what could be the best method/s.

I had and sometimes still try to find which is workable and practically giving results.

I believe I am advancing in it.....

The house cusps are again ayanamsa dependant, so everyones study would be due to his ayanamsa.
Am I correct in saying this?

Another thing I just wanted to confirm:=
I tried to identify the best methods for checking the accuracy of house cusps. It boiled down (till now) to (1) K.P. method of either the cuspal sublords  or  horary (2) tajik sahams (3)I do not see any black and white way in general vedic astrology helping to arrive at the answer.

My results= (1) while using K.P.- placidus or N.C.(did not try equal house here. My hunch is that equal house may not result here) (2) while trying general vedic=porphyrys,/placidus (3) tajik= equal house

Do you see any?

Dear brother,

Please do not take what I write below as gospel, but also not as pure gossip! UE house divisions are in my view more appropriate in tropical astrology which uses earth (season) based zodiacal orientation. Since we use the sky-based zodiac (apparent, visible one), imposing earth-based ruminations overly on that perspective would not be very helpful. Hence I had mentioned that the rising degree is a useful and essential 'pointer' but not the only one. At least that is what I learned when studying sudarshan chakra chapter in BPHS. Note also, in case you are opening up that chapter in your BPHS, that Muni had given a very useful instruction in that chapter which makes the role of planets in a horoscopic reading, very succinctly!

Love, Light, Homework,
Lagna chart And Chalit chart and its significance.
