[quote="Rhutobello"]to depend to much on a Guru, you only become a bad clone of him/her.
To depend to much on a Guru, you loose your self confidence, and will have a hard time to learn to evaluate any chart on your own.
A Guru shall be as a Sign post, and your investigation shall be as a trip in Nature, if you run from Sign post to Sign post, you will at last reach the end, BUT what have you seen, what have you learned, where is the joy to reach the Goal?
So try to build your self confidence, start out slow...say you shall manage...and each time you find that you do, the next trip will bring greater challenge, but also greater pride and joy, if you succeed.....so don't let a Guru destroy that feeling, because that is worth living for
Good luck

Hey Rhutobello Dada (such is the beauty of indian variety that that same word DADA represents elder brother, grandpa and also the Ruffians of Mafia -- which you are NOT! Interestingly, in hindustani, MAFI means apology! Mafi karo is a verb meaning: Please excuse me but the way it is asked with hands joined, it would be similar in Christian framework: Bless me (Father).
Your view and perspective about gurus and teachers sounds so similar to my own that I would have requested you to be my teacher in some future lifetime (BUT first let me shake off these kids that are nipping at my tail!)
LLL...
