Those born with Cancer Ascendant generally had a unhappy married life. Interestingly ,no other Ascendant is repeatedly seen , causing strained relations as Cancer Ascendant, whilst examining cases of seperation or divorce .

Why in particular ?

Sandhuji,
This is a very interesting observation, in fact my dad was the first one to tell me about this from his research and i did not pay much heed. I think saturn being both seventh and eighth lord has a role in this and as you might be well aware, saturn is MR. REALITY and natural karaka of teaching life's lessons through sorrow, who can care less about mills and boon romance.

Also lagna lord is moon and seventh lord saturn is inimical to moon although the reverse is not necessarily true.

All that being said, i think this is a generalization which should be taken with a pinch of salt. One needs to do a deep dive and holistically analyze placements, D-9, planetary strengths etc.

A very similar analogy can be made about the venusian signs with mars as the seventh lord and also the mercurial signs with jupiter as their seventh lord, although these might not be that distinctly visible in research.

But that's the beauty of the zodiac, now do you see why "opposites attract", something to ponder on ?

Dear Proj,

Beautiful post and the precaution was wise! Some numbers for your kind perusal...

Database of 18583 (100%) used
Cancer rising = 2016 (10.84%)

Cohort with bitter divorces, domestic violence, marital disharmony = 1472 (100%)
Cancer rising in this group = 154 (10.46%)

And how are the saturnines doing?

Capricorn rising = 1268 (6.8% of 18583)
Marital discord etc = 89 (7.0% of 1472)

[[But the cult of rigid unexamined ideas continues happily ignoring reality and what lies out there really and refusing to see what is under their collective noses!]]
