A lot in what you say makes practical sense, Votive, and hopefully illumination too!

Whether the weary Chowkidaar ji pedals one push after another out of duty or out of love for the villagers or false sense of care-taking (what will they do without me?) or simply love of duty is only for a true keeper of peace and law under oath to tell us about. What is it that motivates someone given to that way of life and living despite its obvious and daily-in-one's-face reality!

Perhaps you are right and the moon chart was just an excuse for astronomical obfuscation, if not ignorance! Please never utter that in one of the fundamentalistic temples, though!

Sudarshana chart gives the hint, I believe.

One can approach reality from three perspectives:

Soul -- does not require astrologics, but connection with the soul through intuition. Kind of like giving up the soul and not trying to use it as the driver.

Mind -- does not require too much precision and calculation but does need one to give up controlling the mind and not trying to use it as the driver. Nostradamus and the prophetic poets perhaps grasped that and Ghaag about whom KN Rao has written somewhere.

Physical Reality -- Most of us know that very well! This is where the play structure of astrology exists and where we play and fight and strong arm others -- as if this will be forever and we will never leave this reality, of our own making and innocent lack of understanding!

It is strange that as we ascend the ladder of the Sudarshana, step by step, meaningless as it may feel at times, if we took the time to look around, the *VIEW* around and below keeps getting better and better

Dear Dada, Projjie and other members,

I need some guidance at this stage. Hope I get this.

Using your hints, probably I should see things from Chandra lagna.  From Chandra lagna, I get a weak Gaja-keshari Yoga,  a host of VRY,  crowded 8H - where the planets posited are not supposed to perform their normal roles. A 10H lord in 8H -- indicating some trouble too.

From Surya lagna, the no. of yogas (good, bad and ugly) increases. Gives an idea that life should be successful.  (not much success so far..)

The important thing I notice is..   Lagna and Surya lagna is at 2:12 - should be good for lagna but not for surya lagna.  Lagna and Chandra lagna are at samashaptaka. (7:7).  should not be bad either.   But Surya lagna and chandra lagna are at 6:8.  A constant conflict between mind (moon) and soul.

Presence of too many VRY... initial losses followed by good success ...possibly at some others expense,  not lasting though,  probably indicates that I am not a very good person actually. Although I never felt so.   Quite possible.  Although a weak lagna, a weak Sun and deb. moon means that most of the yogas will not fructify.

Regards

Just a quick note Chakra ji. VRY is often rather loosely used. Kalidasa who described it had imposed several conditions for VRY (the paradoxical yoga) to fully bloom. A quick study of Uttarkalamrita would clear that.

Dear Dada,

Thanks.

So far, my interest in astrology has been a superficial one.  Just going thru' diferent sites and learning few bits here and there. 'Seems I have to decide whether I will take a plunge or not.

Just a request.. Please don't use "ji" after my login name.

With regards

I have always preferred the informal practice of addressing individuals by their first name or last name without all these loaded jis and so on which certain cultural settings impose.

When I was growing up in India in Madhya pradesh certain families always used a somewhat different format of addressing. Most of these were Jains and Agarwals and Muslims. The parents addressed the sons and daughters as "Aap" and used other sambodhans of respect. It was not the norm but it felt so nice to my young ears! Just sounded so RIGHT! As if we were always addressing the soul within which regardless of age or achievements of the exterior shell was something to be respected.

Interesting converse, I always addressed my elder siblings and their spouses as "aap" and not 'tumi'. When I was thirty something my teacher visited us and made the comment, "tomraa bhishon formal! Tomar Bowdi kay tumi Aapni bole daako, not TUMI!" (You folks are too formal and address your elder sister in law as the respectful form of YOU (vous in french!) as opposed to the less *formal* and more intimate "tumi"!

Suddenly it struck me that childhood experiences and upbringing comes from other families where respectful addressing was not confused with formality!

In that vein I addressed your soul as 'Ji/Jee". Afterall it is just minds and souls interacting on this ethereal cyberreality. Isnt that true?
