Dear Rohiniji,
Thank you for your interest in my post and also a big thanks for correcting my misconception. Ive read in a lot of places that KN Rao had said this. Glad to have had your views. Obviously for laymen like me there is no way of chekcing the veracity of a statement. coming form a seemingly credible source.
Im afraid my knowledge of astrology is about a fraction of a fraction of yours or for that matter a lot of the maharathis on this forum. I read a lot of your and other posts on this forum and was very impressed. But had a few questions which I was embarrased to ask on the main forum. Infact thats why I posted on the vedic readings forum! Rishi Raulji seems to have moved my post here.
Im just a banker who went through a rough patch that sparked of my interest in astrology! Am just trying to make some sense of what Ive read or heard and applying that to my situation as thats the only way I have to form some kind of a view. Infact I read your posts about the systematic testing and was really interested in that - I think its a brilliant way of testing systems and then documenting them to build a consistent body of knowledge based on rigorous testing.
Infact wnated to offer mysef up as a bakra as Ive been through a very (shall we say interesting) patch

. But thought it would be presumptous.
Then I came across Projenators post about retrogade plants and the responses on them (including yours) and was fascinated. Hence my question. You see I have a lot of retrogade planets in my horoscope and the ones that arent retrogade are debilitated LOL! So this questions gives me a practical way of trying to establish some working rules.
Afraid have nothing more to add ...only to learn.
Dear Akshay ji,
Your kind and even-keeled was like the music of a soothing and steady waterfall near which a weary traveller feels like resting.
Please make no mistake. I have great respect and admiration for Mr. KN Rao who has pretty much single-handedly done for jyotish what very few could. He challenged the status quo and woke all jyotishis and in that sense woke Jyotish up! I was just making sure that the 'attribution' was correct which is important! Sri KN Rao has revived many of the good and rare things that UttarKalamrita encapsulates and should be read by all serious students after they have digested BPHS and bashed it to ground and danced the Tandava on its remains!
But seriously, Mr. KNR has so many accolades and achievements that this retro drishti thing even if it gets wrongly attributed to him by zealous students and followers and admirers like me would hardly eclispse his remarkable journey and contributions just like is the case for BV Raman or NC Lahiri and KS Krishnamurthy, ND Shrimali, Sastri and Santhanam and many others.
The important thing is to realize that there has been hardly any original research or more correctly invention in jyotish. Most of it comes from scriptural refrences and someone tweaks a bit here or a bit there and cleans things up a bit, or confuses things more at times. Such is the kahani of Jyotish and its recent Itihaas!
Identifying oneself as a Bakra should not be done lightly when talking to a Kali Bhakta

And this is NOT a warning :-P
