Dear Learned members,

As a newbie, I would like to understand the basics and any pertaining rule / dictum about this.

I have seen Saturn & Sun Conjunction (yuti) in few charts in my family. In one chart I saw this combination in 12H of Rasi chart in Gemini (Merc in aries-11H with Ketu). In other two cases, I saw same combination in Navamsha in Aries (Sun exalted with Deb Saturn).

My question is -  what information these totally opposite planets sitting together indicates ?  I am aware that Sat-Mars conjunction/Opp. is considered very bad and comes under different names like 'Unmaad Yoga' or Agni-Marut Yoga. Any such apt  names for this combo ?

'Looking forward to replies.

Regards

chakra,
Every bad thing has a good side, every good thing has a bad side. In the  worldly plane of maya, what appears as good may be bad in the spiritual plane leading to delay in moksha/liberation, it all depends on you what you want, razzle dazzle of the materialistic plane again and again OR liberation from it FOREVER......hope you get my point

now saturn mars combo is not always necessarily bad but it creates forceful characters who are perceived as cruel and dictatorial but interestingly enough, they don't realize it themselves. It is the strict disciplinarian saturnic nature represented in a very forceful direct way, wonder how fun it will be to have a boss like that.

Adolf hitler had mars and saturn in kendra to each other, hillary clinton has this conjunct in her tenth house. are they unmaads ? yes in some way but if you tell them, they will think u r unmaad instead.

coming to saturn sun combo, think about sun's benevolence, who burns itself only to spread its rays of light to sustain life. now saturn represents masses, hard workers, discipline, sense of responsibility.  next see which house this conjunct is in. Now whenever saturn comes in, there is a big chance that this person will be misunderstood somewhat in today's world because these days, everyone wants it easy, they don't want to work for it but such a person will never allow that. Also saturn and sun are inimical to each other, sun represents leadership, saturn the masses, so this indicates a TRUE leader of the masses, someone who is not all royalty but has worked his or her way up, so understands how difficult it is to get there ? That being said, in some ways, this person will have conflicts within themselves in the area of the chart they are in, because saturn won't let them into hollow leadership.

hope you understand

Dear Proj (and Chakra if he or she is still within the reach of this 'orbital'!),

To add to your very good post (Bravo!), saturn in mythical allegory has been described as the illegitimate son of sun (try writing that 15 times in rapid succession with your non-dominant hand!) who was banished to darkness (Hades?). I know I hate one factor-astro-formulae but this one often showed up in my experience in many (not all!) charts as a major stressor where father-son relationships were tense or in some ways ambivalent but potentially "formative"! Over the decades of social changes I have begun to notice that the sun-saturn conjunction has evolved! In the older generations, SUcjSA created more negativity and tension, but in more modern parenting styles it has fared much better and for both the procreator and progeny.

Sun-Saturn and Saturn-Mars combos hold a common thread. It is about trust and rolled into that is the matter of security. Both: trust and security emanate from the lost sense of there being immortality and an urgent false sense of immediacy, do or die, now or never, one lifetime take it or leave it! Some of the religions that do not believe in rebirths, one would imagine would have a stronger angst in this area, but let us not digress for even those religions which accept rebirth are not spared and are negatively affected by the two conjunctions and squares (kendra sambandha) between SU, SA; SA,MA. The reason is simple: while mouthing what their religion teaches them, they do not trust in the absolute reality of immortality and connectedness. Without those two, there will always be lack of trust and insecurity!

I hope this makes sense!

Thanks, RR for your comments. Just one more point, if the saturn is retrograde, the sense of insecurity and unworthiness actually increases, wanted to add this since I have seen a couple examples of this in real life.
