Matsya yoga is formed when benefics are in the lagna and 9th house, malefics are in the 4th and 8th house and mixed planets(benefics and malefics)  are in the 5th house.

What I would like to know is whether Moon is considered a benefic for this combination. I have also read somewhere that Rahu and Ketu are not to be considered to be malefics for this yoga. Would like to know the logic behind not considering Rahu & Ketu for this yoga when they are natural malefics.

Would be glad if someone could help me out with this yoga.

I would like to know the bottomline of this YOGA as to what are the RESULTS, HOW and WHEN these results manifest!!

The most interesting result of the yoga is it makes the person an astrologer. The results of the yoga will be felt when the native runs the dasha of any of the planets that are connected to the yoga.
I wish someone can clarify my doubts about this yoga.

I have a research file with 86 astrologers (including many jyotishis) some of which are very accomplished astrologers and writers and teachers of modern times.

25 had benefic in lagna
18 had benefic in ninth
3 had benefic in lagna and ninth

32 had malefics in 4th
23 had malefics in 8th
6 had malefics in 4th and 8th

0 had the above 4 combinations

I lost interest in this *yoga* at that point ...
