Hence Dreshkaanaas you return to I suppose? Which you never left (I know!).

I hope the teenagers are listening for they will not remain so forever! The Tritiyaas are lost causes already!

the infant is tamas, the teenager is rajas, the fourth state is Sattwa.

How would one classify the grihastha in the trinal system? Surely the most 'dangerous' one must be categorized, classified -- even thumb-printed and DNA-classified in advance before they make trouble!

Must be the proactive 'chowkidaar' in me that springs alive from time to time! Sorry!! Their crime is not that serious I suppose! Or was it??[/quote]

I plead guilty, it is not easy to get out of the trinal influences for their tread marks heavily and pans much larger time spans perhaps!

Actually, I would say that the fourth state being Brahmin is that stage of giving and yet contains the rajasic, the fixed and the mutable.
The third level than those 'dangerous' ones you maintain and amongst them all the trinal influences too. As with the rebellious teens and the hungry infants.
As you said, the zodiac gets complete once you multiply the trines with chaturya!

You are right friend! Turya/Triya, the only difference in these astrological anagrams, interestingly are the two vowels! "U" and 'I" And both are not only exchangeable completely (once we learn to leave our ego and be able to walk in 'your' shoes (!)

Maya is created by there being the I and U, so triya and turya, the angles and trines in a horoscope make the physical reality (Maya's office!) come alive and also create raj-yogas and the dharma-karmadhipati yogas at Maya's best!

I better shut up before I get sent to the corner for "talking" in class! <NEVER HAPPENED I PROUDLY STATE >

Maya, when in garb of the teacher, has often encouraged "talking" in the class!

I agree! This forum (School) has been one of the best in that sort of *permissiveness* at least to the likes of me!

Without all these Mayavini Teachers, where or how could the likes of us have met? ;-P

This thread is interesting as I could follow most of it. The interpretation of chaturya was good also the ‘U’ and ‘I’ part and all about MAYA.

Apart from the jyotish interpretation of realization the levels of tamas, rajas and sattwa guna are bucketed slightly differently (standard textbook definition).

The first level tamas would be infant and teenagers together the reason being teenagers know how is ‘borrowed’ and still getting shaped that’s why there behavior is unpredictable. The second level rajas would be an adult and certainly the most equipped ones (both grihastha and singles). The third level sattwa would be old age when one is ready to leave there lethal arms and ammunitions to lead the rest of there lifes in service of God almighty.

Certainly, rajas guna is the most complex and influenced by maya as owned by Lord Vishnu with Lord Shiva owning the tamas guna and Lord Brahma owning the sattwa guna.  Not sure if we put the logic of chaturya (triya) who is going to own it???

There are many ways of using these states and labels. Human experience is not compartmented and there is a lot of simultaneous gunas flowing through the mind. That is what I was reading into Votive's message.
