this is common sense dude, obviously the one easier to understand or the one presented/marketed in a way easier to understand will have greater acceptance but that is not NECESSARILY the deeper one. Look at that this way if you still did not figure it out, handsome hunks and sexy babes are very popular and make a lot of money in today's world, does that mean they are the most creative or deep. They might be street smart at best, nothing more. Sun sign astrology can be done in parties, people who can figure out moon signs in their heads won't go to such parties.
If I may, Proj, and without being judgmental or sarcastic or diminuitive etc -- in any bookshop you will find books at many levels, neatly separated into sections, and categories.
Sadly, in the library of astrology, such clean and clearly demarcated categories do not exist. But does that make any single book in the dishevelled, disorganized book carnival of astrology unimportant?
One just prays that each individual stumbles into and finds the right book and sometimes even one book can change one's life or lifetime pursuit!
As a child exploring jyotish I first stumbled into VAK Ayer's pithy and boring book on jyotish and literally went into retrograde motion (and some individuals on internet may be wishing that I kept going that way [Thakur paanch takar proshadi chordabo jodi oi Sh... etc!]) but soon thereafter I stumbled into that other book on western astrology that led me gently back into jyotish and left fond memories of the kind soul that escorted the estranged and lost child back home!
I am grateful to the disorganized mess because it gives you opportunities to discover what you never imagined you would find or that is there to find!
It is like the difference between learning things in an organized manner in a museum and learning what your guru/teacher wants you to, as opposed to exploring and finding what Nature has in Her mind to teach to those who dare come to Her!
To each his own, and neither is better nor works for everyone individually! That is why we have so many schools, paramparas, gurukools, organizations, associations, forums and teachers,
BUT ONLY ONE MOTHER NATURE!
