Sometimes, we look the some planet is "Vakri". What does it mean. It will not auspicious even if the planet is in own sign.
Thanks n Regards,
Jai
Vakri or retrograde graha, regardless of whether it is male or female, malefic or benefic, exalted or debilitated, acquires a source of strength that is known as Chestabala! Sun and moon which are never vakra or retrograde (hint hint!) acquire this same bala through other provisions!
There are some texts that try to separate the malefics from benefics and state that malefics lose whereas benefics gain strength through retrogression.
Surgeon Dr. KS Charak wrote in his books on medical jyotish that vakri graha always signify some physical defect or disease, regardless of all other goods they provide.
It is kind of interesting that sun (atma) and moon (mind) are never vakri or retrograde in the scheme of things, whereas the remaining planets representing more the 'physical' are sometimes vakri at other times direct. Some planets like mercury (intellect) are vakri often and the body-less nodes are vakri most of the times!
Retrogression slows a planet's normal progress down as it retraces its path and goes over already covered territory. If the planet is malefic, the nativity feels that TIME was wasted or lost, if benefic, one feels a welcome opportunity to get yet another chance to get things right!
The right and wrong deal with the essence, the soul, and self and not in a physical-worldly sense of experience!
Narratively yours,
