i was asking a general question with regards to this question but i guess you need to see the whole chart by the way correct?
Dear Holy spirit!
Astrology is confusing enough without human help, hence I try to provide context and quote which message and context I am responding to. Since you chose not to quote the context, I am assuming that the thread quoted below is what you were responding to?
Now scroll all the way down to the second row of 'asterisks' where I will respond to your above statement

Earlier message thread quoted below to give context!
for when sun is opposite rahu. sun being in the 12th house and rahu being in the 6th house. what is the signification or detriment or possible problems or not even that possilbe good things. that also means that ketu is conjunct sun of course.

There are two classes of planetary indicators in Jyotish, those which are visible, have bodies or discs and others that are mathematical points. Upagrahas, lunar nodes fall in the latter category.
For those indicators, I have learned to focus on narrower orbs (I tend to favour navamsha and in few cases dreshkanas and nakshatras).
For the visible, the sign is good enough for me, in terms of orbs of influence.
[[Almost forgot about the ascendant which is a mathematical point but unique because it is visible! Just as the lunar NODES become too when they eclipse! The sign ORB works in that case!]]
It is not an arc-distance issue but what the segments represent. But that is just my view.
Good questions! And good luck in your learning endeavour!

RR: Holy-spirit, using your parameters of sun in 12th and rahu in 6th, I get 163 out of 18500+ charts! I realize that it represents less than 1% of the database I am looking at but even in those 163 charts I see enormous variations in the individual human experiences. The subset of 163 includes cases of infant mortality, popes, astrologers, clinically classified idiots, gifted children, artists ... so on and on!
This is ridiculous amount of variability, so for your benefit I restricted the orb of sun cj ketu to 3 degrees or less and I ended up with 28 charts! HA! Now we are getting somewhere!!
Some of the biographical fields for these individuals follow! You figure now why I keep nagging everyone about not looking at charts piecemeal!
