Is it just the man's horoscope that has to be checked for progeny and is it just the amsakam one or even the rasi one can be considered? Also when the lagnam is an even sign then it has to counted in reverse is it not? And while calculating number of children is Rahu and ketu both considered for nodes...like for eg. if rahu is the 5th house so does it mean we should take it as one child or should we count on till the next node ketu?

Hello,

It is wise to judge from the mothers chart for better accuracy regarding the progeny factor.

About the reverse counting the method is not seen to work with accuracy.

For number of children the saptamsa chart in addition to the natal chart's 5 house should be checked.

While seeing from natal chart the 5th Arudha (AL5), the 5th. from Arudha, Lagna and 5th. house should be checked. Also the 5th. from the moon to be checked.

Rahu in 5th. house increases the chance of number of progeny, but may deny too depending on aspects on it.

I am just a beginner and recently read an article on progeny calculation. Had some doubts and wanted to get it cleared. but that article mentioned that its the father's chart which gives a better prediction. it also said that if lagna is an odd house then counting is clockwise otherwise it has to be reverse clockwise for eg. 9th, 7th, 5th and so on. and also for ladies chart it should be counted from 9th rather than 5th. of course it said about taking into consideration the child house lord. planets in child house (5th, 7th etc), planets associated with the child house lord and lagna although it didnt mention 5th from moon.

I was trying to compare my own and my husbands chart for practice purpose. Hence my question about Rahu in 5th bec in my navamsa chart rahu is 5th from reverse as my navamsa asc is cancer and rahu in picses

i have another doubt...is saptamsa chart same to the navamsa or is it something different?

Also it would be great if you would you have some articles on the matter or if you could throw some more light on it as I felt these contradictions a bit confusing.
