I looked at Jhora calculations as per your advise, the first house cusp matches up with the ascendant, so is it safe to assume that Jhora calculates chalit chakra, i am confused  , maybe it's the mercury retrograde in transit,  some clarification will be appreciated.

In jhora, the lagna longitude is same as the first house cusp, so is it safe to assume that the rasi chart in jhora is chalit chart, I would appreciate some clarification, looks like the mercury retrograde is getting to me.

why are you confusing your self keep the basics straight. Apply principles and shoot after repetition and reproducibilitywith a lot of charts and practice that will make u perfect. Keep thoughts straight.If you are getting results repetably then u are applying the basics straight. always keep in mind that the village jyotish is far apt than u though he understands less of astrologi and astronomy than u....the only thing he does is that he applies the principles straight . You can always relate every thing to any thing but that leads to an abyssmal pit....beware(joke).

So what you are saying is:
Don't remain stuck to one book, one software, one school of thinking!
And rely instead on actual palpable experience of nativity charts as opposed to rehashed statements quoted from *earlier* writings or so claimed anyway!

In the persuit of truth we dabble with a lot of things which distract us from the focus.The lessons we receive from the kindergarden teaches us to persue the truth. I havent seen many in my life who have done so but the few who have done so are known in time immorial as the "Mahatmas".

So does the Experience of the ages which are always correct . I am not against the traditions nor am i a perfectionist but i am sure that whatever is written in some timeframe needs to be experienced which enrichens the quest for knowledge.

By the way my statement here was to refrain from loosing focus and also from making futile efforts to reinvent the wheel which are detrimental to the process of learning.
