Western uses the sayana or no ayanamsa zodiac and Veid follows the ayanamsa zodiac. You could check 'ayanamsa in google.

Western takes into consideration the extra Saturnine planets like Neptune, Uranus, Pluto and Vedic do not. Vedic astrology uses many other mathematical points which the Western do not.

The above 2 being the main points and their outlook is different.
